The Pasighat Municipal Council is conducting a MyGov Discussion Forum for its “Draft Smart City Proposal”. The proposal has been prepared taking into account citizens priorities and aspirations as part of the Round 2 of the "Smart City Challenge”.

In the past few months we all have worked hard towards making Pasighat a Smart and a credible city. The citizen feedback received at various stages of this competition have been carefully analysed to articulate the vision, goals and how the projects proposed in the Smart City Proposalis going toimprove the life of its residents.

The Citizen Interactions, expert opinions, and deliberations by departments have all contributed in developing this Smart City Proposal. The draft proposal will be finalized and submitted to MoUD once the citizen feedback on the draft proposal is incorporated.

Give your valuable feedback and suggestions to help in refining and finalizing the proposal.

Since tourism sector is yet to be given due importance in the State, people has limited ideas on this sectors. As such, people have voted less for it though Siang belt in general and Pasighat in particular has vast potentials for it. So far my observation, it has potentiality in cultural/ rural and eco tourism in particular and can become a most preferred tourist place in the state if developed properly.

On going through 'Citizens engagement' in draft proposal, it is amazing to find that people’s turn up in all the activities like competitions, seminars, campaign, discussion, face book, twitters etc organised by PMC and Gen Admin are found to be very high. So, their support for converting Pasighat into smart city is encouraging.

E-governance is also equally important in modern days to ensure easier and better living of people. Most of the progressive cities in India provide these facilities to its citizen. So, we must also emulate other cities and introduce e-governance in phase manner in Pasighat. Firstly, on issue of ST/ income certificate, payment of elect/ water bill, redressal of citizens grievances etc.which should also be incorporated in final proposal.

So, due importance is to be given in commerce and industries to deal with forest/ agriculture / horticulture products which is found to be abundant and surplus in the district particularly in pasighat. If these sectors are neglected, the main sufferer will be the rural folk who toil hard in the field. So, encouragement should also be given in Commercial / Industrial Infrastructure in the final proposal.

Though ‘Commercial / Industrial Infrastructure and e-governance’ is voted least by the citizens poll, these sectors cannot be neglected. Without the healthy growth of commerce and Industries, economic status of the people will remain standstill. There will be no scope for revenue generation that will require for using in making further development of the city

We need a three or four digit universal emergency number for Pasighat. The number will respond to calls related to fire accidents, emergency medical cases, and police. And we should ensure that the response team reaches the location within 7 minutes. Many a times, police, fire brigade, and ambulance don't reach on time.

First of all, we should replicate the garbage management of Sweden.They use their garbage for generating energy. In fact, they buy garbage from Denmark to generate energy. Secondly, we should replicate the practice of Japan. They sort waste materials and recycle them. For example,safety pins are sorted into small metals, old socks are sorted into clothes, and so on. After sorting, they are recycled. Those households who don't sort their garbage are fined.
