Our own City of Durgapur, has been selected by the Ministry of Urban Development, Government of India as one of the 100 Smart Cities to participate in the Smart City Challenge. We are in the process of upgrading our Smart City Proposal based on feedback, inputs, suggestions as received from all concerned Citizens and Stakeholders vide discussion on MyGov, Facebook Group, Focussed group consultation process, one-to-one meetings, offline feedback module etc as was held in Round 2. After analysing and incorporating suggestions with respect to specific up-gradation of our proposal, we have formulated a Draft Smart City proposal comprising of the City Vision, Goals, Strategies and prioritized concept Area Based Development & Pan City Intervention proposed as per the requirement of Smart City Mission Programme and the challenge process.

Durgapur Municipal Corporation is now inviting feedback as well as valuable suggestions on the formulated draft Smart City proposal from all its stakeholders and citizens. Please follow the link below to access the brief of the Draft Smart City Proposal with its main features. Citizen & stakeholders are requested to post their suggestion pertaining to the proposal.

for any smart cities, these below infrastructures should be must in addition to the city specific development. 1. Each house should have piped water connection. 2. All the roads should be “wall to wall”. PWD style roads cause a lot of air pollution because of dust. 1. Providing best Transport facility 2. Attract IT/ITES/SMEs for job creation 3. Waste management to be monitered separating dry and wet waste at source. No waste dumping but to recycle it 4. Proper drainage and sanitation facility 5. Factories to treat waste to avoid water pollution 6.
