People must be first made aware of the consequences of energy depletion through advertisements starting from the low class peoples, people above the poverty line. Not only electricity but other basic amenities too. only then people will make a step towards energy conservation. And then step by step development towards #UJALAScheme and hence #EnergyConversation

Presently I am visiting my relative, staying in an OIL housing colony. I have witnessed, to my surprise, that almost all houses keep their kitchen, bathroom & store room lights switched on throughout days and nights, literally without switching off even once. They also keep almost all fans switched on, unattended. Can anything be done to stop this nonsense ??

It is observed that so many Central / State Govt. & undertakings Bodies/Railways/Industries/offices/Nagar Nigams etc. are not using LEDs completely. First of all Govt make it mandatory the use off LEDs Bulbs and lights and replace all traditional bulbs in placess/Industries/offices/Nagar Nigams etc. Secondly Ensure the availability of LEDs in all range of wattage, every where in country on subsidized rates for a period of time say one year or two year.

The government can start an exchange program wherein people could get LEDs on nominal rates on the exchange of old incandescent bulbs. This solves 2 problems, namely of promoting LED bulbs and the waste disposal of old bulbs which will be generated once there is a shift from the old bulbs. Awareness will be a big tool and the best medium will be TV and radio, with a specific target to the rural population. Highlight advantages of such LED bulbs during low voltage supply.
