The production of LED LAMPS is to be increased nationwide basis. For few years taxation and other charges are to be decreased or exempted. The cost and quality is top priprioty. The cost will be not be four to six rupees more from normal bulbs or CFL LAMPS. These and few more will help the use LED LAMPS in our country.

firstly set some standards of installation and maintenance on renewable programs. many villages/outposts have already been subsidised (for solar) and plunged back into darkness. Once standards are set, and penalties and policing clarified, programs for lighting all streets and public areas which enhance safety and local commerce. Next step would be to enforce LED on industrial and commercial enterprises before heading out to residentials (apartment buildings and like)

Last mile LED products in the market is not affordable for common man. In fact many adopted to CFL at great deal of cost. LED yet again with 'cost'. Change to LED is going to remain slow, mostly when a replacements occurs. Mercury vapors fear is there. Remedy 1. Give tax reliefs couple years to reduce cost at the last mile or 2. Involve research labs (domestic) to produce LED bulbs at affordable cost Aim to reduce t In case

It is no secret now that Government is providing LED bulbs on subsidy basis at reasonable cheap rates which are much below the prices of CFLs. There is no reason that people should not go for LEDs. However, there seems to be lack of awareness in the public. Best way to give due publicity is to catch hold of children in schools. educate them. they will educate their parents. Other ways are to give extensive publicity through print as well as electronic media including internet.

Sir, best way to promote use of LED is to ban production of all products except LED. If its manufacturing cost is high, government should give subsidy to manufacturers. Further as done by BSES yamuna power, all the power supply companies supply its customers with LED. This is the best way to promote LED and save electricity. TARUN SHARMA

Respected sir ,the cost of led bulbs is because of its electronic circuits of converting 240 v a c into d c 12 volts. led bulb needs only d c 12 or less volts . each led s has a d c converter in it . instead of that make the whole house operated by 12 volt dc and the bulb should be simply led only no electronic circuit in it . this will reduce the cost of led s tremendeously and the use will increase in houses .each lighing distribution board should have 220 v a c to 12 v d c converter in it

1.Total prohibition on the manufacture and sale of incandescent bulbs (40w to 200w). Several countries including the USA, Russia, Canada, Australia, E.U, Brazil etc have done it. This can be done in a phased manner . 2. This makes CFLs and LEDs the main players in the market. 3. CFLs have mercury which is a neurotoxin. This should be emphasised at schools. Children are more receptive than adults. Also strict norms on level of mercury and extra cess on CFLs can reduce its price gap with LED.

LED lighting should come out of the BULB concept. Electric Bulb was a concept by Thomas Edison to encase the filament in a vacuum. With advent of the LED, this concept is not required. Still we continue to make LED in the bulb shape so that existing facilities are used. The saving is only in the power. We can get much bigger savings on Capital and power costs by using the LED lighting concept in innovative ways. The lower power can result in savings in connected wiring, transformers, fi
