The Government of India issued guidelines for the promotion of payments through cards and digital means on 29th February, 2016. The guidelines can be seen (here). A Committee was also constituted under the Chairmanship of Shri Ratan P Watal, Principal Advisor, NITI Ayog and Former Finance Secretary with key industry stakeholders, RBI and concerned Government Departments to review medium term measures necessary to promote the digital payment system in the Country. The Committee’s report can be seen here.

The Department of Economic Affairs, Government of India invites public Comments / suggestions on the report. We invite you to read the report and provide your valuable feedback and suggestions by 11th January 2017. The final decision on the Report will be taken after considering the comments/suggestions received on the Report.

Quick win 1. Encourage companies to spend their CSR for adopting and educating each village for digital payments. Dedicated team to monitor the progress 2. Request RBI or Bank to promote RuPay Card where transaction cost is comparatively less than Visa or Master network 3. Mandate payments by retail shops to Manufacture only by digital payments. This will reduce the leakages 4. Mandate Digital payment to all education instution, doctors, medical shop, Government milk co-operative society etc

LIKE VISA, AMERICAN EXPRESS. I AM just listening all sector of People .last Nov 8 2016 to till date. I am shocked about F.I.Q (Financial IQ) of CITIZEN of my country) Every body is saying VISA is charging 2% for each transaction . Nobody say why they charge. My dear Gentle Man with 7th, 8th, 9th pay commission. You are taking salary for what. IF we give the IDEA. I know not all of you.I respect THE TEAM OF MYGOV.AS PER USA law 2% charge for Protection of Triparity in every deal.Jai

Currently there is an issue of lack of cash. it is a good opportunity to bring a rule that every business small to big such as tea stall, train station schools, hospital must keep an EFTPOS with pay pass machines so people can do digital payment by atm card. People can also pay to mobile number which is registered with bank. We should invent devices which people can pay with their finger print and don't have to carry atm card. should be discount on digital payment to encourage
