The Government of India issued guidelines for the promotion of payments through cards and digital means on 29th February, 2016. The guidelines can be seen (here). A Committee was also constituted under the Chairmanship of Shri Ratan P Watal, Principal Advisor, NITI Ayog and Former Finance Secretary with key industry stakeholders, RBI and concerned Government Departments to review medium term measures necessary to promote the digital payment system in the Country. The Committee’s report can be seen here.

The Department of Economic Affairs, Government of India invites public Comments / suggestions on the report. We invite you to read the report and provide your valuable feedback and suggestions by 11th January 2017. The final decision on the Report will be taken after considering the comments/suggestions received on the Report.

Major discouraging fact for digital transaction for those who are very much inclined to do is transaction charges. 1st banks should stop NEFT/RTGS charges. Bankers do not understand that they get lot of money to their bank and under instances people keep money in SB Account for long time. Banks will get money for their disposal. It is ideal if Banks give incentives to customers for using them for money transfer. Banks should also stop transaction charges when we use cards while shopping.

Online transaction aren't free.today I charged my uts app and I had to pay transition charges then I'll prefer to but a local train ticket using cash. I support cashless move I do most of my transactions cashless , but if I have to pay more than I don't think it will attract people, also in uts app I need to do a minimum recharge of 100 rupees why can't I pay instantly.also UPI is also not free like imps , sir I think we all know if you give a way to people and its expensive then the conventiona

Now we are ready to move for cashless transaction. But we are penalised for online payment. Some of the companies providing discount for online payment but banks are charging for online transaction. It will be reduce the interest of online transactions. Plz take any action on online transaction charge, it may lead our country to do Cashless transaction.

I think it is better option to launch BHIM card insted of bheem app as mony people are illiterate.the card must have facility to work with fingerprints insted of pin.and add supporting machine to swipe card at every gov. Office. At bus tickets and other all public places where usually cash is used.make compulsory the installation of those machines to shops having profit more than 25000 per month. It will even bring tranparancy in income of shops and hence in there tax.

Dear sir, We are ready to pay in digital media and its a good idea too. But the problem is no government office like government hospital,BSNL,like no future office is still back in this digital payments.And awareness section for peoples, Peoples who take degree in IT they also don't know how to utilize the internet banking. So awareness classes are must. Thank you.

Sir/Madam, Unavailability of proper internet services in most of the areas of country is a big barrier for digital awareness as well as cashless economy,so firstly we need to strengthening our telecom services. And should have strict rules against them who deny to receive payment digitally.
