The Government of India issued guidelines for the promotion of payments through cards and digital means on 29th February, 2016. The guidelines can be seen (here). A Committee was also constituted under the Chairmanship of Shri Ratan P Watal, Principal Advisor, NITI Ayog and Former Finance Secretary with key industry stakeholders, RBI and concerned Government Departments to review medium term measures necessary to promote the digital payment system in the Country. The Committee’s report can be seen here.

The Department of Economic Affairs, Government of India invites public Comments / suggestions on the report. We invite you to read the report and provide your valuable feedback and suggestions by 11th January 2017. The final decision on the Report will be taken after considering the comments/suggestions received on the Report.

डिजिटल पेमेंट करने के लिए बैंक द्वारा लिया शुल्क अविलम्ब खत्म किया जाना चाहिए। जिस तरह नरेगा जैसी योजनाओं का पैसा बैंक खाते के माध्यम से किया जा रहा है उसी तरह प्रत्येक दुकानदार के एक POS मशीन रखना अनिवार्य हो और वह मशीन उसे मासिक किराये पर बैंक अथवा सरकार द्वारा उपलब्ध कराई जाये। तभी कैशलेस भारत बनाना संभव होगा और इससे देश में भ्रष्टाचार का भी खत्म होगा।

Dear Sir, Payu money is charging 2.30 and on for every online payment which is costly if I start doing only online payments.Please waive of the charges to promote the online payment on bank account at-least. Also for international cards there should be easy acceptability. Hoping to have ease of doing digital business...

Sir To implement you need to use whip lashing strategies for our people...All these years they have been doing cash transactions. By not giving receipts...and they have always made money hiding from taxes...they will not move for card swiping unless strict mandate comes from government side sir. I strongly also suspect that states without NDA/BJP parties are indirectly discouraging the implementation of cashless banking. Make sure that very penny is tracked and transacted by bank. Jai Hind
