The Government of India issued guidelines for the promotion of payments through cards and digital means on 29th February, 2016. The guidelines can be seen (here). A Committee was also constituted under the Chairmanship of Shri Ratan P Watal, Principal Advisor, NITI Ayog and Former Finance Secretary with key industry stakeholders, RBI and concerned Government Departments to review medium term measures necessary to promote the digital payment system in the Country. The Committee’s report can be seen here.

The Department of Economic Affairs, Government of India invites public Comments / suggestions on the report. We invite you to read the report and provide your valuable feedback and suggestions by 11th January 2017. The final decision on the Report will be taken after considering the comments/suggestions received on the Report.

Thanks for the digital payment encouragement by the Gov't of India and I happily acknowledge the benefits I received by digidhan -Benefit of BSNL prepaid recharge online by getting a subsidy,subsidy on online refilling in Indian oil petrol and eager to get a discount of ₹5 on online LPG gas booking.Digital payment is a boon for smart people with smartphones'!

Payment more than 3000 or 5000 should be made only through cheque or dd,card or any digital mode and below 3000 or 5000 payment by cash , introduce 5% discount for persons who is making payment below 3000 through online or card for some periord atleast for 3 months,that will bring more people in to cash less transaction

Sir,I would like to suggest(1). About removal of the bank charges levied on the use of the other banks ATM card for the cash withdrawal, as its going common and on other hand,there is no enough ATMs.(2) For the payment, thespian should be better offline payment system which is very fast and easy. The USSD is totally failed system, never succeeded.

Particularly some industries should be made complusory for use of cash-less technology for all kind of transaction (sales,purchase, salary) as it's generating unaccounted money fast and in bulk quantity. Aadhar number or PAN number should be complusory for sales invoice made in cash. A special arrangements for foregien tourist should be made so they can also use different app instead of cash.

Sir you are saying us to move toward digital payment but I think it's quite difficult to accept digital payment for a local merchant because bank is charging 2% per tran. Because of competition people are selling products at 5% margin and if we will give 2% per transaction to bank then nothing will left with us. Please do something sir .I want our country to be cashless to remove currption

1.Customer support is not available.please provide full customer support in each language 2.you have to provide the free POS or retail software as common use for all merchants with all facilities like payment gateway,AEPS,UPI, CURRENT ACCOUNT LINK,TAX,everything as per merchant convenient. small merchants cant spend 20000 or 30000 for software. 3. Bank support in rural area is worst. 4. have to focus on security awareness before implementing. 5. we should bring as subject in education
