In order to make the Indian IT Industry move up the value chain and thereby sustain its growth trajectory, India has to adopt a paradigm shift in it’s strategy for software sector by focusing to create vibrant Indian Software Product Industry, where IT Products also contribute equitably and significantly along with IT Services. Though India is well positioned to further grow in services sector, however for holistic growth, there is a need for a National Policy on Software Products that can synergise the efforts of the Government and Industry to create a robust Software Product Industry, which enables the germinating ground for large number of Software product startups, promotes development of an ecosystem encouraging R&D and innovation, opens up multitude of opportunities of access to capital and helps build and improve the domestic demand. A National Policy on Software Products aligning with other initiatives such as Start-up India, Make in India and Digital India etc. can provide the springboard for India to emerge as a global leader in this important industry.

To drive the rise of India as a Software Product Nation and synergy with the ITeS sector, so as to place India as a leading player as creator, producer and supplier of innovative Software Products globally thereby enabling the IT Industry to sustain growth momentum, a Draft Policy is under consideration by this Ministry.

Ministry seeks suggestions and feedback from the public and other stakeholders on the draft before forming the policy.

The last date for sharing your inputs on the Draft National Policy on Software Products is December 9, 2016.

corruption still at micro level, how can we eliminate. example for the sack of E.C, Copy to get from Sub-registrar office, from the peon to officer asking money, otherwise making delay UN-necessarly. To get rid out of it if we put a cashless machine with a citizens purpose registrar & performance time limit for the cause will effect corruption or otherwise avail all the data to public through Internet on payment relating to Registrar / Sub-registrar / tahasil offices.

SOFTWARE PRODUCTS NEED TO BE AFFORDABLY PRICED SO THAT MOST USERS FROM OUR GREAT POPULATION OF 125 BILLION WOULD BENEFIT, THESE PRODUCTS SHOULD BE EASILY UPGRADEABLE. SOFTWARE PRODUCT COMPANIES SHOULD ALSO HAVE A OFFSET(LIKE DEFENCE PRODUCTS) CLAUSE FOR INDIGENOUS DEVELOPMENT/PRODUCTION, ANTI VIRUS SHOULD BE INBUILT, SHOULD CONSUME LESS DATA SIZE AND OFFER A CRISPY & EFFICIENT INTERFACE TO THE USERS.

(1) A few corrupt are trying to convert their illegal tender into legal one. Stop deposit of old tender for more than 5 lakh. Poor may not have Bank Account for which they may need time but a person having illegal tender for more than 5 lakh must be having accounts. So they should not be given more time. A person having more than 5 Lakh in illegal tender must report to IT or Local Authority regarding possession of Illegal Tender if they need more time. Govt. may formulate rules on the same.

Unless we make our own computers and softwares and design our own network system, foreign countries will keep hacking and steal everything valuable to us. Both Julian Assange and Edward Snowden have already told us and warned us about so many dangers which are unbelievable. The private sector should also be strictly scrutinized by the government. Prices should also be realistic and reasonable. Language is a problem because there are officially 22 languages in India.

SOFTWARE PRODUCTS:1.Presently software IPR need protection through copyright which is same as say songs music. Not enough protection as the efforts to produce world class software product are high.2.The best way now is to develop a software in a startup and sell or merge to an MNC.They will have the IPR abroad. This way we will never have a Microsoft or Oracle...Only Infosys and TCS ..3.Software products in India have either VAT and/or Service tax...confusing and creates problem.REDUCE TAX.

Another strategy to make the Indian IT industry move up the value chain and thereby sustain its growth trajectory is to ease laws a bit that may be less feasible in today's modern world where, the technology changes and becomes old very fast. The procedures of establishing and running a firm may be made more simpler and easier. Firms can be encouraged to setup their business in India and expand within India by expanding operations to other cities and states within India.

If the talent and skills of these professionals can be pooled and utilized within the country, the IT industries can be a booming sector for a long time. The capability of innovation of tools and technologies needs to be harnessed more productively. More encouragement needs to be made to promote software technology and tools to be produced and utilized by our own market and also facilitate export of these technology and tools to other countries.
