Nearly a decade and half has passed since the National Policy for Empowerment of Women, 2001 was formulated. Since then significant strides in global technology and information systems have placed the Indian economy on a trajectory of higher growth impacting the general populace and women, in particular in unique and different ways. The discourse on women’s empowerment has been gradually evolving over the last few decades, wherein paradigm shifts have occurred –from seeing women as mere recipients of welfare benefits to mainstreaming gender concerns and engaging them in the development process of the country. These changes have brought forth fresh opportunities and possibilities for women’s empowerment while at the same time presenting new and emerging challenges which along with persisting socio-economic problems continue to hinder gender equality and holistic empowerment of women.

The policy envisions a society in which, women attain their full potential and are able to participate as equal partners in all spheres of life. It also emphasises the role of an effective framework to enable the process of developing policies, programmes and practices which will ensure equal rights and opportunities for women.

The broad objective of the policy is to create a conducive socio-cultural, economic and political environment to enable women enjoy de jure and de facto fundamental rights and realize their full potential.

Attached please find my views on dangers involved. #DraftNationalPolicyforWomen2016. Please do not forget on Pragati alone and ignore Vikas. There are at least four Yojanas made exclusively for girls but not even one Yojana made by boys by Modi Govt in last two years. This discrimination is unjustified and threatens to sabotage all your good intentions.

Ladies ke liye bohot sari jobs nikal rahin hain jo bohot hi achi baat hai.Par abhi bhi offices mai hame barabri ka kaam seekhne nahi diya jata.Dame muh ye kaam kiya jata hai.Hame serious discussion aur decision making mai bhag lene nahi dete.Salary bhi kam hoti hai males ke samne.Bhed bhav ke karan bohot asan kaam diye jate hain aur compete karne mai bohot pareshaniyan hoti hain.Kabhi kabhi to hamare ideas hamare sath ke male workers chura bhi lete hai.Abhi bhi firms mai lady barabar nahi hain.

Dear Sir, While formulating National Policy for Empowerment of Women, I suggest the government should take adequate measures for education of girls and should make them capable to compete with male in all spectrum of life including skill. Currently the Nationalised banks charge 12% interest on educational loans. The loan amount becomes double at end of course. Kindly interest rate may be decreased to reduce the loan burden of girl child. Thank you.

Madam, From a plain reading of the draft it appears that u are in the process of introducing 'reservations' for women in every sector of our economy. We can digest most of the things since they are being made with an intention to uplift women, which as per ur opinion are disadvantaged. However it's not the case with modern, well to do, educated women brought up in towns/cities. It's necessary that the efforts envisaged through this policy are made for women belonging to weaker sections.

Respected sir, Men and Women treated as same in the whole world but only in India there is women are always as abla naari. Men are always wrong and women are always right. So all the gender biased law for protecting women is now a days misusing. Please make correction on this gender biased law to save next generation. Protect all women not only wife but also mother & sister too. Please protect men too from grossly misused gender biased laws. Please treat everyone in this country as a human
