http://people4smartercities.com/editorial/twist-floor-tiles-gives-power-walking-new-meaning Thousands of commuters pass by Guwahati railway stations and Isbt everyday. What if we can convert the energy produced by there footsteps into electricity. This is an ambitious project and will require huge investment but if the tiles installed for this purpose is used as advertising one of many products then this cost can be beared by private companies, as we know they spend a huge sum for advertising.

Problems like - Artificial flood, Illegal land grabbing and building structures, cleaning and clearing slums including anti-social activities must have to solve permanently before thinking of a "Smart City".

It may be implemented through areas based approach consisting of retrofitting, re-development, pan city initiatives.
