The role of new and renewable energy has been increasing significantly in recent times with the growing concern for the country's energy security. To achieve energy self-sufficiency, it is necessary to deploy new and renewable energy for supplementing the energy requirements of our country. So, we ask you to suggest ways for encouraging the use of renewable energy on this open discussion forum.

The use of renewable energy must be planted in minds of common people. It must be affordable as well as accessible. The Govt must create awareness about the use of renewable energy. The new innovative ideas which were followed in other countries are to introduced in India too.(like Producing electricity by force given by the pedestrians in a steps or a platform in some crowded places). Every home must have solar panels for their self sufficiency.Govt must spend atleast 5-08% for R&D.

India has a coastal line of 7517 km, which indeed is very huge. Which means India has got huge amount of sea water access than any other fresh water rivers. The idea is to make use of the sea water and convert it to fresh water by "Desalination" using the solar technology. by this idea the cost of conversion will be very less and no city or village will face any drought in future. I urge the PM and PMO to look int his matter carefully and build a model to harness the water availability around.

In India the cost of renewable equipments are not affordable and the service centers are very few. So, the middle class people cannot think of it. My suggestion is that government should make a low cost renewable kit for a single house which could generate it's own electricity. Like DTH. First government should come forward by implementing all offices with renewable energy.

Rnewable energy could be encouraged by improving presence of equipments dependent on renewable source of energy. Maybe flooding the market with abundant presence of such equipments. Moreover the government should run a daily program on the availability of such materials in the market alongwith maybe a BEE standard for each equipment so that user's understand the quality and a common trust is developed. Also, equipment's for SHGs or something could be bundeled with Rural financing loans.

#Renewable Energy: Consumers should be encouraged to give their tube lights to such collection agencies every time they purchase an LED from the portal. While purchasing LED's from the portal, they should be asked to provide their address on the website of the e-waste collection agency for collection of tube lights. This way renewable energy will get an impetus.

#Renewable Energy: The government should launch a portal to purchase/order LED lights online. Further, incentives should be offered to encourage the use of LED's like recharge and movie vouchers, discount coupons etc. Tie up's should be done with e-waste management companies like Chintan and other companies to collect e-waste from homes.Links to the websites of such collection agencies should be provided on the portal.

24 x 12 electricity is daily need, present supply source is government, initiative for solar/wind energy generation need to be started through government, option user should not surrender existing supply,if sufficient solar power generated than department need to provide 2 in one meter for solar use & govt supply OR department should purchase of solar energy generated OR departmental should not charge bill as minimum charges if load is not used.
