The role of new and renewable energy has been increasing significantly in recent times with the growing concern for the country's energy security. To achieve energy self-sufficiency, it is necessary to deploy new and renewable energy for supplementing the energy requirements of our country. So, we ask you to suggest ways for encouraging the use of renewable energy on this open discussion forum.

for renewable energy, solar energy is the best and abundant option in India. For this we have to start from the households. Equipment is only available for industry level operations. Since the degree of price sensitivity is high in India, if we somehow convince the mass buyers that solar is going to benefit them without any compromise on the efficiency at a low competitive price, we can do it. Also, not everyone understands the process for obtaining a subsidy, we should make it user friendly

Sir,the role renewable energy revolution will come through following ways 1.installation of solar panel to all street lights in our country 2.To ask all the educational institutions to install solar panels in the roof of buildings. 3.All govt. Offices must install solar panels on their building roofs. 4.All the industries should install a part of solar panels if place is available to install. If the above things are followed then it is easy to revolutionise india to use renewable resources.

According to the Annual Emerging Markets Smart Grid: Outlook 2015 study annual electricity theft in India is $16.2 billion. So lost must be checked. Generation cost of Solar power, even without Battery backup is too high compare to Hydro Power. Disposal of solar panel after its life is hazardous. Ultimate solution is hydropower, which is cost effective, easy to produce, easy start/ shutoff as per demand, renewable. Unsolicited environmentalism should be curbed immediately.

we support incentives that spur innovation in renewable energy. It would be better to push for a federal standard that would require 30 percent of all Indian electricity to be generated from wind and solar by 2025. We expect that the nation’s transmission grid—designed more than a century ago—is modernized to support the clean power revolution.

We have scarcity of Electricity on our country. We carry out load shedding to meet the surging demands. But, we loose revenue that way. I have an alternate solution. Instead of cutting the power supply in an area, increase the power tariff in that area so as to keep the supply/demand in equilibrium. People will either switch off or pay more. Those who switch off will decrease the load and those who continue to have power at a higher rate will get the revenue generated simultaneously.

Solar energy plays vital role as clean, renewable, abundant energy source hence greater emphasis required from govt. I suggest govt should promote use of solar panels in regular schools, especially night schools, colleges, govt libraries etc. at least in govt institutions in beginning phase with huge subsidy and then extrapolate to private sector. Schools, colleges have sufficient space to launch this initiative. Please take it on priority.
