Bengaluru (erstwhile Bangalore), the capital of Karnataka, has a history of over four hundred years, having been founded by Magadi Kempegowda in the year 1537 AD. With its strategic location as well as congenial climate, fertile land & adequate rainfall has grown steadily in its area.

The history of municipal governance of Bangalore dates back to 1862, when nine leading citizens of the city formed a Municipal Board under the Improvement of Towns Act of 1850. Later, a similar Municipal Board was also formed in the Cantonment area of the city. The two boards were legalised in 1881, and functioned as two independent bodies called the Bangalore City Municipality and the Bangalore Civil and Military Station Municipality.

Post-Independence, the two Municipal Boards were merged to form the Corporation of the City of Bangalore in 1949. In January 2007, the Karnataka Government issued a notification to merge 100 wards of the erstwhile Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BMP) with seven City Municipal Council (CMCs’), one Town Municipal Council (CMC) and 111 villages around the city to form a single administrative area and the body was renamed 'Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike' (BBMP) in 2007.

New areas in and around Yelahanka North Bangalore and green fields are filled with unplanned houses in private Layouts to accommodate expanding population.But no developmental activities are undertaken like no Connecting Roads,inadequate water supply, inadequate sanitation,inefficient mobility and transport and no safety and security of citizens particularly women and children -Particularly health and education aspect of Middle class and poor are not given due care.

Air pollution is a growing concern in Bengaluru City. Unused spaces under the flyovers can be utilized for growing common air purifying plants such as Areca palm. These potted plants would help clean up the air and reduce air pollution to an extent. The greenifying of these spaces would however need periodic maintenance. #AirPollution

Daily we come across Ambulances stuck in traffic signals and patients life is at high risk. Instead of traveling by road to the hospital, we can have cable car connectivity to important hospitals from specific destinations. This will reduce commute time and patients life can be saved. Same can be extended to VVIPs travelling by road creating traffic jams, they can use cable cars here.

1)Lakes are the life-line of any city & they need to be protected & preserved in the right earnest. 2)Roads should be of motor-able quality & 3) A clean city inherently will be a Smart City

People want to be able to walk on the roads of India without being crushed or maimed. Smart pedestrian signals, together with footpaths and zebra crossings, and a handful of manners thrown in, will enable us turn this IT-halli into a Smart-halli. Pedestrians have the right of way in all cities around the world. That is what makes makes the cities ‘smart’.

Before the city go to smart city..First BBMP has to collect betterment charge and issue the Katha certificate for all the property holder. and remove A Katha, B katha.and abolish the Akrama sakrama.if they collected Betterment charges they can have the fund of90000 lacs(45000*200000 property). The Metro Project has to be implemented an span of 2 years for all the area. so that road traffic can be avoid or restrict the Motor vehicle sales or usage.
