Recognizing the universal appeal of Yoga, owing to its demonstrated benefits towards immunity building and stress relief, the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) proclaimed 21st June as the International Day of Yoga (IDY) on 11th December 2014. Since 2015, this day has been observed all over the world in ever-growing numbers, with the objective of reminding people across the globe about the benefits of Yoga, and to build enduring public interest in Yoga by highlighting its importance and contributions to the public health.

The preparations for the 7th International Day of Yoga (IDY 2021) have already begun and the Ministry of AYUSH (MoA) is looking forward to active participation from the people. The event will be observed in compliance with the COVID-19 guidelines of the government, with a greater focus on digital activities. In these tough times, all are encouraged to “Be with Yoga, Be at Home”

With this backdrop, MoA invites all citizens to share their ideas on how people can plan to observe the 7th IDY at home with their friends and families while mobilizing the wider community to maintain the ethos of Yoga and ensure community wellbeing. These ideas can be further utilized by the Ministry in conduction different programs dedicated to building the enduring public interest in Yoga by highlighting its importance and contributions to public health

The last date for submission of ideas is 30th June 2021.

Surprised all knowing & globe trotting PM who boasts of bringing the best current practice done nothing 4 last 6 years . possible practical theme based instant result provider under real guru. Nothing succeeds like success. e.g. silence, Prayer of sankalp followed by confident Ghoshna if you do it for 10-15 days without fail, U will be free of diabetes & then regimen of yoga & diet chart dos & dont's .rishi Udalka could do it within 15 days chandogya upanishad . Tat tvam asi Shwetketu.

it takes effort to do yoga & immunity looks a charade . Can we see yoga's specifically 4 bodybuilding & life style diseases like obesity , diabetes, blood pressure etc! when are you going to use this platform to demonstrate the practicality of yoga !No harm in fit people demonstrating it just like other instructors. 4 exercise, younger crowd still prefer gyms and in the process harm their body more and burden on parents for their diet money minimum 5x. In times of not much earnings it hurts.

I regularly go into coma seeing the ambassadors of yoga ! It just did not look like a man who changed padma awardees ! become worse appointing jihadis ! No exceptions !! Dr Jekyll and Mr. Hyde personality ? or the ayaush ministry run by terrorists and osama bin laden friends ! Don't tell us that there are no good yoga practitioners across many ashramas and village fields in India . If they are appointed, even tourism will increase. people wanting to meet them and see their surroundings.

Om Om Om ! I have been watching the yoga day since inception . There is emphasis only on the physical part. Rishis, Upanishads talk of silence . Have not seen it incorporated in the exercise. Would be a good idea to have a prayer for guidance, blessing and complete silence of 5 minutes before the exercise session begins. Let we be a witness of mass awakening . If the yoga masters are true, it will happen. Om Om Om .

यह ऋषि मुनियों का देश है यहां योगा पर ही नही ध्यान (मेडिटेशन ) पर भी विशेष ध्यान देने की आवश्यकता है , कृपया इस विषय में विचार करने का कष्ट करें जिस तरह से टेक्नोलॉजी तेजी से आगे बढ़ रही है देश का युवा मॉनसिक रूप से अस्वस्थ हो रहा है ,
