Plastic pollution is one of the gravest environmental challenges of our time. It chokes our oceans, harms wildlife, and even enters our food chain in the form of microplastics. The key to combating this crisis lies in the powerful mantra: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. Reduce: The first and most important step is to reduce our use of plastic, especially single-use items like plastic bags, bottles, and straws. We must shift toward sustainable alternatives cloth bags, metal bottles, and eco-friendly packaging. Conscious consumption is the need of the hour.Reuse: Instead of discarding items after a single use, reusing them extends their life and reduces the demand for new plastic. A simple act like reusing containers, jars, or carry bags can have a big impact when done collectively. Recycle: Recycling helps keep plastic out of landfills and oceans. However, we must be careful to sort waste correctly and support efficient recycling systems.Beating plastic pollution - begins with "you and me".

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle isn’t just a slogan—it’s a way we show care for each other and the world we live in. When we reduce plastic use, we’re choosing cleaner air, healthier oceans, and a better future. Reusing things reminds us to value what we already have, rather than always wanting more. Recycling gives waste a second life and lessens the burden on our Earth. These small choices—carrying a cloth bag, refilling a bottle—may seem simple, but together they make a powerful difference. Let’s protect not just the planet, but the people who live on it—now and for generations to come.

Dear My Gov and Ministry, For the past 10 to 15 years, I have proactively refused the plastic bags offered to me during my day-to-day grocery purchases. Bought multiple Jute bags to carry the heavy goods during weekly purchases like vegetables or fruits. Out of 365 days of the year, I can proudly share that my life is going without plastic for a complete 365 days. Though still requesting MyGov to create a web-based day counter where citizen can mark their plastic-free day/s on the web, and win-win engagements for environmental good would be created for everyone. Please intervene at your earliest.
