As a retired professional, your voice carries weight in the Union Budget 2026–27 consultation process. Below is a professional draft you can use to submit your suggestions. The most effective way to send this is through the MyGov.in portal under the "Inviting Ideas for Union Budget 2026-27" section or by sending a physical/email representation to the Finance Minister and the Labour Minister. Draft Suggestion for Union Budget 2026-27 To: The Hon’ble Finance Minister, Ministry of Finance, Government of India. Subject: Suggestion for Union Budget 2026-27 regarding EPS-95 Pension Revision and Medical Benefits. Respected Madam/Sir, I am writing this as an EPS-95 pensioner to provide my suggestions for the upcoming Union Budget. While the Indian economy is growing rapidly, a large segment of senior citizens—private-sector retirees under the EPS-95 scheme—continues to live in severe financial distress. I request the government to consider the following points:

Income Tax Relief: To effectively boost demand, higher disposable income must reach households. An increase in the income tax exemption limit to ₹25 lakh would materially enhance middle-class spending on essential areas such as education, rent, medical, and healthcare, thereby supporting the real economy. GST rate cuts alone may have limited impact without such income support. Domestic Tourism Promotion: High domestic taxes on travel and accommodation costs encourage overseas travel. Extending Leave Travel Allowance (LTA) under the new tax regime, with flexibility beyond only travel expenses, would promote domestic tourism and retain spending within India.

First of all, thank you to the Government of India for giving the youth and citizens an opportunity to share ideas for the Union Budget 2026–27. This initiative allows us to take part in shaping the nation’s future. A key priority should be increased investment in space and defence. More funds for ISRO, defence research, and greater participation of private players are essential. Focus on fifth-generation fighter aircraft and indigenous engine development will strengthen self-reliance, national security, and technological growth. Education reform is equally important. India must move beyond the old British-era education system and adopt a modern, Indian-centric model aligned with global needs. Education should prepare youth for cyber threats, emerging technologies, and civic sense. Administrative reforms are also necessary. Training bureaucrats in modern technology and digital governance will improve efficiency, strengthen institutions, and help India move toward a stronger future.

Union Budget should cater for education, agriculture, sustainable Village, eco park instead of offering 25%subsidy to the beneficiary against schemes only 15% subsidy and compulsory 10% sustainable social activity for example providing pure water, clean washroom facilities in remote schools, Market place, cleanliness and hygiene.
