We bring to you this wonderful news that our city-Pasighat has been selected under 23 fast track cities by Govt. of India and we need to submit the revised plan by 15th April 2016. As we know that we worked very hard in our previous attempt however unfortunately we missed coming in the first 20 list of cities and finished at 39th rank - missing by just 3 points. Let us take this as a positive feedback that we were very close to winning it and were far ahead of many other big cities.

Looking ahead, we need to work on the gaps identified by Govt. of India to revamp the proposal. One of the key weaknesses identified is SWOT (Strength, Weakness, Opportunities and Threat) analysis. Here, specifically, Weakness and Threat needs to be more elaborate. We have uploaded a discussion page on mygov portal about this aspect of proposal and need support of people of Pasighat to come up in big numbers and contribute towards this discussion. Let’s brace up for this challenge and work with renewed and reinvigorated spirit in the direction of making Pasighat a smart city.

Dear Friends, as far as my understanding is concerned, SMART CITY does not mean concrete jungle or High rise buildings in the city. It is about building a sustainable City with basic infrastructures provided to the citizens...it's about inclusive growth. There should be room for Urban poor in the form of affordable housing, employment generation etc. Emphasis should also be given to good governance and citizens consultation. In short a smart city would be a Green, Clean, Safe and Livable city.

The problem are rather amenable.the city lacks in basic amenities such as the poor water supply in some regions during some seasons, the same goes for erratic supply of electricity. Heaps of garbages and sewage clumped up at the town does not give a good picture either.there is only a single main market.people in the market area would be so disturbed by the time they finish shopping as it is really crowded, the same narrow road has to accommodate the pedestrians, vehicles as wellas the cattle.

We need to find a mechanism by which we can keep our city clean and green. In the name of development trees in the residential are cut down at a very rapid rate. For construction of concrete building how many tress are being cut down. The district or municipal has no idea how to stop or they can not stop it either. Each and every tree whether it is in public or private land should be property of Municipal and any damage to it should be penalized.
