We bring to you this wonderful news that our city-Pasighat has been selected under 23 fast track cities by Govt. of India and we need to submit the revised plan by 15th April 2016. As we know that we worked very hard in our previous attempt however unfortunately we missed coming in the first 20 list of cities and finished at 39th rank - missing by just 3 points. Let us take this as a positive feedback that we were very close to winning it and were far ahead of many other big cities.

Looking ahead, we need to work on the gaps identified by Govt. of India to revamp the proposal. One of the key weaknesses identified is SWOT (Strength, Weakness, Opportunities and Threat) analysis. Here, specifically, Weakness and Threat needs to be more elaborate. We have uploaded a discussion page on mygov portal about this aspect of proposal and need support of people of Pasighat to come up in big numbers and contribute towards this discussion. Let’s brace up for this challenge and work with renewed and reinvigorated spirit in the direction of making Pasighat a smart city.

The good governance can be achieved only when there is efficiency, transparency, accountability in government establishment/offices which can be accomplished using e-governance smart solutions. The main hurdle in the successful implementation of e-governance projects is due to the lack of basic computer skills among the masses. Therefore, the computer skill development program is very essential not only for the students but also for the community in general.

Another factor that obstructs the growth of this place is the lack of proper solid waste management. Other than the Swedish method of waste-to-energy model, the plan of garbage that is not garbage proposed by Curitiba can be replicated here. The proposed Plan encouraged recycling and began rewarding citizens with food, books or bus tickets when they separated their organic and non-organic waste. If these practices are applied here than it will be easier to achieve the vision of clean India.

Today E-Waste is also a great threat. The environmental effects can be horrific. Most electronic waste goes through a recycling system called a WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment), which recycles 95-98% of E-Waste. Bio-Toilets may be provided where toilets constructed in slum areas cannot be connected to drain lines. Rating may be done for all wards of Pasighat every year to promote competition among them on green and clean.

To pave ground for egovernance, information Technology is to be made more popular. In every deptt. there should be provision for technical person. Therefore, to produce more technical person, there should be technical college/ institution. Land for setting up of such institution is available in pasighat.

The land of Adis as a tourist destination with its unique trough like features surrounded by hills, a place where the mighty Siang river emerges from the foothills and the Green plains cover most of the land, where one finds waterfall in the North and lush green Tea gardens in the South.

Pasighat adventure tourism can be converted as the mecca for adrenaline junkies. It has potential for river rafting along Siang, paragliding, cycling, trekking which can be incorporated into packages in collaboration with travel and torus operators or an adventure annual fest, along the lines of the Mechuka Adventure Fest can be organised.

Eco-tourism to add the benefits of tourism with environment sustainability. It also aims at the economic development and political empowerment of local communities, to provide funds for ecological conservation and to foster respect for different cultures and for human rights. Eco-tourism parks can be set up. Daying Ering wildlife Sanctuary must be upgraded to provide more facilities hereby attracting more of regulated tourism activities. Traditional way of fishing is encouraged.
