We bring to you this wonderful news that our city-Pasighat has been selected under 23 fast track cities by Govt. of India and we need to submit the revised plan by 15th April 2016. As we know that we worked very hard in our previous attempt however unfortunately we missed coming in the first 20 list of cities and finished at 39th rank - missing by just 3 points. Let us take this as a positive feedback that we were very close to winning it and were far ahead of many other big cities.

Looking ahead, we need to work on the gaps identified by Govt. of India to revamp the proposal. One of the key weaknesses identified is SWOT (Strength, Weakness, Opportunities and Threat) analysis. Here, specifically, Weakness and Threat needs to be more elaborate. We have uploaded a discussion page on mygov portal about this aspect of proposal and need support of people of Pasighat to come up in big numbers and contribute towards this discussion. Let’s brace up for this challenge and work with renewed and reinvigorated spirit in the direction of making Pasighat a smart city.

As far as my understanding is concerned, SMART CITY does not mean concrete jungle or high rise buildings in the city. It is about building a sustainable City with basic infrastructures provided to the citizens...it's about inclusive growth. There should be room for urban poor in the form of affordable housing, employment generation etc. Emphasis should also be given to good governance and citizen’s consultation. In short a smart city would be a Green, Clean, Safe and Livable city.

Arunachal Pradesh is one of the best place for school education but still there is need for higher education in Engineering and medical science. Pasighat can be one of the best cities for education hub for higher education. Infrastructure needs to be upgraded with latest technology and IT and other industries can be set up to provide job for youngster.

Daying Ering Wild Life Sanctuary; located at a distance of 13-km from Pasighat and is one of the few sanctuaries located on an island. One has to cruise through river Siang by boat to reach this sanctuary. A variety of migratory birds like Cranes, Wild Ducks, Storks, Water Fowls and Hornbills come here from far off places making it a paradise for the bird watchers. Deers, Wild Elephants, Buffaloes and smaller predators are also abundant. The lucky visitor may also have a glimpse of the Tiger.

Transportation and uninterrupted communication are the two things which should be implemented effectively in NE states. Besides that, NE invites enough monsoon waters to meet its needs. This water should be sustainable used by making rainwater harvesting compulsory. Moreover, national level institutions should be built here. It will help local people to interact with people from other states and share their views.
