We bring to you this wonderful news that our city-Pasighat has been selected under 23 fast track cities by Govt. of India and we need to submit the revised plan by 15th April 2016. As we know that we worked very hard in our previous attempt however unfortunately we missed coming in the first 20 list of cities and finished at 39th rank - missing by just 3 points. Let us take this as a positive feedback that we were very close to winning it and were far ahead of many other big cities.

Looking ahead, we need to work on the gaps identified by Govt. of India to revamp the proposal. One of the key weaknesses identified is SWOT (Strength, Weakness, Opportunities and Threat) analysis. Here, specifically, Weakness and Threat needs to be more elaborate. We have uploaded a discussion page on mygov portal about this aspect of proposal and need support of people of Pasighat to come up in big numbers and contribute towards this discussion. Let’s brace up for this challenge and work with renewed and reinvigorated spirit in the direction of making Pasighat a smart city.

We have to increase the total no. Of fire brigade vehicles and the staffs as the present ones are unable to cope when in need. Many more water refilling points have to be provides at various location for quick refilling. Also make to mandatory that, water supply is adequately regular to these refilling stations.

In view of natural calamity, the authorities need to be in preparedness by installing warning system to alert the citizens. Though the banks of the siang river has been protected by construction of flood protection dykes, bunds etc.,care has to be taken regarding its periodical maintenance.

Pan city concept appears to be very encouraging for younger generation who remain busy all the time in their professional engagements.Redevelopment should also be a pan city concept. Areas should be identified at different locations and redeveloped as per requirement of the people and surroundings.

Urban development should not misappropriated as real estate development at any cost. This mentality should change in a smart city. Pasighat was known as a clean and green city until recently. Now it is just another hub of unchecked concrete growth. Smart city should encompass revamping of sewage facilities, efficient waste disposal, planting and taking care of trees & cleanliness of lakes. Stress should be laid upon widespread usage of solar & wind energy in domestic activities.

As all these waste polythene/plastic make bazaar very ugly and unhygienic. In this regards, a strong and effective market committee is to be formed. Possibly, a good numbers of ornamental trees are be planted in the market for which forest dept. May be asked to provide saplings & fence. Regular police checking at market be done so that the market may remain open atleast upto 9. PM

The Policy on tourism in Pasighat does not exist. To strengthen the tourism, Product Diversification/Improvement is needed. Wild Life Sanctuary, Golfing and religious tourisms are the mainstream activities in Pasighat. The natural resources in the Pasighat like hills, waterfalls, springs, rivers seneric beauty and wild life reserves has not received enough attention and did not grow to its fullest potential. Similarly, Pasighat natural scenery beauty remains untapped.
