We bring to you this wonderful news that our city-Pasighat has been selected under 23 fast track cities by Govt. of India and we need to submit the revised plan by 15th April 2016. As we know that we worked very hard in our previous attempt however unfortunately we missed coming in the first 20 list of cities and finished at 39th rank - missing by just 3 points. Let us take this as a positive feedback that we were very close to winning it and were far ahead of many other big cities.

Looking ahead, we need to work on the gaps identified by Govt. of India to revamp the proposal. One of the key weaknesses identified is SWOT (Strength, Weakness, Opportunities and Threat) analysis. Here, specifically, Weakness and Threat needs to be more elaborate. We have uploaded a discussion page on mygov portal about this aspect of proposal and need support of people of Pasighat to come up in big numbers and contribute towards this discussion. Let’s brace up for this challenge and work with renewed and reinvigorated spirit in the direction of making Pasighat a smart city.

Dumping of waste into the river & Water bodies should be prohibited. Industrial activities should be under constant control so that smoke, chemical effluents or other pollutants are eliminated. The tendency to diversify industry and substitute existing heavy and polluting industries with industries of high technology is environmentally sound and should be encouraged.

In the view of natural calamity , the authorities need to be in preparedness by installing warning system to alert the citizen . Though the bank of the siang river has been protected by construction o flood protection dykes , bunds etc, care has to be taken regarding its periodical maintenance.

The black pitch roads maybe narrow comparatively but with necessity and requirement the same can be widened along with the provision of proper drainage system. One of the major plus points here is the locals here quite aware of he need for approach roads and drainage system and most importantly are not very much inclined on compensations for such developments.

In many areas of Pasighat, roads are found to be narrow and the absence of Drainage system is quite notable. The conditions of the roads are poor. But comparing other cities in other states and also within the state of Arunachal Pradesh, there is a scope for road widening and construction of Drainage system owing to the provision of spacious areas on either side of the roads.

Building national level multi – speciality health care institution. People of Pasighat does not have this facility. I seen since childhood, many people lost their life on the way to Dibrugadh for treatment, which takes almost a day to reach there for treatment. Here we need a multi speciality health care institution. More than 60 thousands of people are dependent on General Hospital Pasighat, which does not have multi – speciality equipements.
