The peaceful Ganga ghats just a stone's throw from Kanpur, on way to Bithoor are beyond picturesque. While the main ghaat is a tourist attraction, on the way there are numerous ghats which can be developed as picnic spots or stop-overs. These don't just have religious significance but this is also where the sparks of great mutiny of 1857 started. The younger native Kanpurites are not even aware of their own history. School trips and day picnics could be a way to educate young minds.

Adhai Din Ka Jhopra -- Not very far from the legendary Dargah of Ajmer-Sharif stands this testament of the bygone era. Locals tell that the beautiful Arabic verses were actually carved overnight (well 2 and half days and hence the name) to camouflage the original Jain temple and save it from vandalsim by Mohd Gauri! Unfortunately the place is not very well kept, nor are there any tourist guides to testify this story.

Natural roots bridge near Cherrapunji. In fact that whole area around Cherra is very beautiful allowing adventure trip. There are small resorts around but this area is not easily accessible by public transport. Better connectivity and active promotion at National and international events needed. These roots bridges are not common, need to be showcased as a significant Indian attraction..

Incredible Chalukya Empire - Temples of Pattadakal, Badami and Aihole - Bagalkot District, Karnataka. Bagalkot district was once the heatland of Badami Chalukyas (540 AD to 750 AD). The above triple sites are the centers of spectacular artistic capabilities, no art-lover can miss. With the innumerable wonderful monuments, these are recognized by UNESCO as world heritage monuments. These triplet-towns are connected by very bad roads, and the Tourism Dept. has to look into this.

This is a view of the Gokarna beach from a Ganesh temple atop a hill. The shores of the beach is unclean and there is no place to sit.. There are broken glass peices , used bottles, foot wears , pigs , animal excreta on the shores and even on the rocks on the hill. No Govt. body bothers to clean this place.
