The Rain Water Harvesting introduced in Tamilnadu by a novel initiative has delivered abundant result. Unfortuntely it had lost its initial vigour. The nature drains rain water to see allowing a part of it to percolate as storage for off season. But the urbanization has skewed this natural balancing resulting in rural environment getting exploited for sustaining urban life style. Urban India should make itself self sufficient to the extent possible by RWH. Follow Tamilnadu model of RWH.

While our current growth rate of forest cover is a good start, it is not enough in my opinion. Here are some ways to improve it.

Now I am turning of the vehicle at the signals so the air pollution can be reduced and motivating my friends and known people to do the same. If having some work close to house or work place i am trying to go there by walking. Use of local transport should be promoted how ever first there is need of a strong local transport network

As the govt has the list of the RWA which are registered along with their key contact persons in that rwa. Govt official should meet the RWA heads and call for a combined meeting with the residents and help establishing mentioned below points from MLA / MP fund • Rain water harvesting • Solar panel at Roof tops , common parking , boundary walls of society /park. • Drip irrigation system to water the plants in the park. • Plantations of small trees and plants at the periphery of the society

Manufacture Alcohol (useful for mixing in petrol),from rotten and waste of fruits and vegetables,lying at every mandai(market) and govt is paying for Clean Up,generate revenue instead.The demonstration and all aspects of implementation methodology will be presented
