I am a health economist working in the UK but have researched on the health systems in India. As an economist, I think the primary health care(especially in rural areas) should be managed by corporates through a public private partnership mechanism. For eg, a policy could be made that big corporates should take responsibility for managing(adopting) the implementation of activities of PHCs in their area. This will ensure that the primary health care functions well, especially in rural areas.

It should be made mandatory for every citizen to have an health insurance and Government must start a health insurance company with low premiums. Also here in USA, ambulances are given more importance and way is given to them. But in India, there are many cases where ambulances are stuck in traffic. So place a camera on front of every ambulance so it records who has not given way. Those people should be seriously punished. Government hospitals should be taken care of as they are in worse state.

In Government managed Hospital(eg SMS Hospital in Jaipur), People are afraid to take their family member, as the care given there is not expected. But these hospitals are well equipped, as these are govt funded. The proper output is not coming out of it. people used to go to the private hospital where they spend unlimited money(if they afford) but i believe that a better services can be provided by our govt hospitals. Just a better management is required. ans of course 'Clean India' will help

In my view people, who cannot afford food, cannot afford the basic medicines also. There are millions of citizens who don't have money to buy medicines for fever, cold, cough, etc. These minor diseases sometimes grow bigger & become unmanageable at a later stage. While government is trying to support food, shelter & other basic amenities to such citizens, it would be great to provide such basic medicines FOC in all hospitals and medicos and citizens can use their ratio card to get them based on req

I am a Vascular-Interventional Radiologist, a unique sub specialty of Radiology, not very well developed in India. In fact, I left India to learn this skill and now I think it is time to give back by training/teaching young doctors and at the same time provide health care to needy patients, just as I do in the US. Let me know how and where to begin.....

public education to spread awareness to give way on the road to emergency vehicles to help prevent death in transportation of patient to hospital effective preventable cause of deaths. kick back system should be declared illegal from inter physician referrals and medication promotion by the companies and a cleaner more transparent way of practicing medicine should emerge to practice to help the patient and not to fill the pockets of doctors.

A handful of Indian Doctors are ignorant towards their patients. Indian population must be aware of the rights and must not consider filing a case against any doctor as a headache. Strict punishment for the doctors needed and an easy protocol to make the patient be heard by the law. This shall definitely improve the quality of Indian Healthcare. Moreover, health insurances should be promoted. Yojnas should be activated as early as possible to avail the benefits of health to our citizens.
