During the Rashtriya Ekta Divas address on 31st October, on the occasion of birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi announced that the Government of India proposes to launch a new initiative called ‘EK Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’. The programme aims to give a boost to the existing cultural connect between different parts of the country and enhance interaction between people living in different states.

Conceptually, the idea is that each year one state should connect to any other state in India on a reciprocal basis. As the Prime Minister himself explained through an example in his speech, "Haryana as a state can decide to connect with Tamil Nadu for the year 2016 and the activities that Haryana state can undertake may include popularizing the rich heritage of Tamil Nadu in Haryana through song festivals, book festivals, literary events, food festivals, tours of people of Haryana to Tamil Nadu and vice versa. In the year 2017, Haryana would connect to any other state and in 2018 to another state and so on".

The knowledge of the culture, traditions and practices of different states will lead to an enhanced understanding and bonding between each other thereby strengthening the unity and and integrity of India. The full address of the portion of the Prime Minister's speech, where he announced the scheme, can be accessed here.

We believe that such an initiative to connect people-to-people should be implemented with inputs from the citizens of India.

With this view, MyGov introduces the ‘EK Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ contest. Citizens are invited to submit their ideas and suggestions on how the programme should be structured so as to encapsulate its true spirit in all its various dimensions and capture the diversity that characterises India.

While the citizens are free to submit their ideas in kernel format, they can also expand in detail on the themes and sub-themes. Citizens may consider the following general themes on which to base their ideas, while submitting their entries. These themes are only indicative and participants are free to include any other points they deem appropriate.

1. Identifying role of central government and state governments in implementing the programme
2. Identifying the manner in which the governments, civil society and private sector can work together.
3. Specifying the Use of modern communication tools, including social media.
4. Documentation of success stories.
5. Making 'Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat' a people's movement rather than a government programme.

Participants are encouraged to submit original and innovative ideas. An idea, merely rich in detail but lacking originality, would not score more than a very innovative idea explained briefly. However, if a very innovative idea is also explained in detail, it will naturally score higher.

Participants may submit their entries as attached PDF documents while providing a summary of their proposals in the comment section.

The winners of the contest will be awarded a certificate by the Prime Minister, along with cash prizes as follows:

1. First Prize - Rs. 100,000/-
2. Second Prize - Rs. 75,000/-
3. Third Prize - Rs. 50,000/-

The last date for submission is 25th December, 2015.

1. creating awareness among people about different relegion their through books, news etc. like in UP knowledge of festivals of Tamil nadu, Madhya Pardesh, should be created. 2. if some festival is to be celebrated in U.P. then on the same day it is to be celebrated in all states. 3. this can be done by celebrating each monthsame festival throughout the country. like Pongal will be celebrate throughout the country at same time. festivals should be of nation not of respective states

Creating the right atmosphere for the celebration of festivals that are not local- for example Pongal is celebrated in TN, the government of states like Bihar, Orissa should showcase how these festivals are celebrated and this must be reciprocated by the complementary states as well- The central government can create a dedicated भारत एक्युकता फण्ड for this purpose, the headquarters for which shall be located in the geographical central point of the country.

Declare certain weeks of the months on the name of the state you seek to champion, for example if a week is declared as “Manipur week” (on a pan India basis- that is to say the entire country should be a partner in showcasing the chosen state and not on a binary or tertiary association) schools could be asked to organize quizzes about Manipur (quizzes are the best way of increasing awareness), art competition pertaining to the state at hand, cultural and heritage manifestation of the state.

My idea is to promote inter-state fellowship. One state may provide study fellowships to other state and vice-versa. This will help students (the future foundations) to stay for a long period (4-5 yr) and explore the rich heritage, learn culture, celebrate festival. Just like international fellowships given to Indian students for study and cultural exchange, i hope this is a nice way to start inter-state fellowships to strengthen the nation along with providing learning opportunity to million.

The relation between different states in India should be like the relation between siblings born to a mother(India). To make this a strong association, efforts of both mother(India) and siblings(States) is very much essential along with conducive environment(government Schemes, exchange programs). A Program Centre under Central government will finalise states to be associated and state Nodal Agency at state level will help in executing the said program which includes Art,Culture, food, festival,et

EK Bharat Shrestha Bharat programme will not only connect two states but also connects millions of people across the two connected state which will help to explore each other’s tradition ,culture, talent and values. My Mantra of EK Bharat Shrestha Bharat is “simple and directly connect” with the people & Minimum government Maximum public involvement.  To make it a mass movement, both state and centre government has to play some role pls find attach PDF.thanks
