The Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation is pleased to inform you that our city has been selected through a competitive process for Smart City Mission under the Ministry of Urban Development (MoUD). In the next phase, our city has to compete with 98 other cities to make it to the top 20 to be taken up for first round of funding, for year 2015-16.

The city needs to formulate a vision, mission and a proposal in consultation with citizens and other stakeholders. We urge you to share your ideas and be an integral part of the journey towards making Vizag a smart city!

“My Visakhapatnam of Tomorrow” – A vision Competition

• The question you need to answer is “What is your vision for Vizag smart city”?
• Maximum word limit – 100 words.

The best 3 Vision Statements would be declared as winners.

The competition shall be closed on 1st November, 2015.

Prize Money (Cash / Vouchers / Gift items):

• 1st Prize: INR 10,000/-
• 2nd Prize: INR 6,000/-
• 3rd Prize: INR 4,000/-
• Consolation Prizes (25 nos.): INR 1,000/- each

How to Submit

All the entries must be submitted online through https://mygov.in.

Terms and Conditions

1. All participants must clearly mention following details in their entries:

• Name
• Mother’s Name
• Father’s Name
• Address
• Age
• Contact number (with area code)

2. The winner will be chosen on the basis of simplicity of thought, realism in ideas, and originality in content.

3. The decision of GVMC on selection of top three winners and consolation prize winners shall be final. GVMC officials can participate in the competition but will not be eligible for rewards.

Parallel with development,vision is also important.I feel Vizag can do well in fields of tourism,education and IT.Development shouldn't affect green cover of city.Roads and buildings should be planned such that they don't obstruct extension of metro rail project.Not just roads but coastline security should be enhanced.We need Vizag to be self-sufficient in variety of fields.It needn't be metropolitan like Tokyo but a city with great quality of living like Vienna would do better.

UGD &New age public transport systems are need of the hour, to make the city smart and livable city of the future Vizag need *Patient-driven pre-emptive care at government hospitals with optimized services. *RFID based integrated traffic information services with congestion monitoring and diverting mechanism. *Wider services under e-governance. *Smart grids and use of smart metering. *World class digital infrastructure that influences IT/ITES investment to accelerate economic opportunities

vizag should highly secured.In mygov.in,Most people who given their vision are male and female are less.It may they felt insecure to put their personal details me too which are publicly viewed. 0 corrupt city. RTI is main tool,it should be given as project to students. Electric wires should be insulated so no need to cut trees. Hills should not be altered. Its a shield which protected from HUD-HUD. Make a slogan begger "free vizag"
