While each smart city will have distinctive features specific to its location, demography, culture and other such factors, there maybe smart solutions to problems which are common to all cities. This contest seeks to identify such smart and innovative solutions to common problems. All questions in this category must be answered to be considered as a complete submission and to be eligible for short-listing. Questions 1. Out of the following 21 smart solutions, select 3 solutions that should be applied to all Indian cities and provide a brief write-up (max. 50 words) to explain why. 2. Describe a ‘smart’ idea that you have seen in some other city(anywhere in the world) that you would like to see replicated in your own city. ‘Smart idea’ means doing more with less. 3. Describe 3 ways that Indian cities can reduce the gap between rich and poor. 4. List out 5 essential facts about your local municipal corporation that should be available to all citizens. Entry Deadline • Entries may be submitted online on the mygov.in portal latest by 23.59 hours (11.59 pm) on Saturday, 20th June 2015. Evaluation The submissions will be evaluated on the following criteria: • Do-ability (50%) • Innovation (50%) Award Two winners in each category will be awarded a citation from the Prime Minister at the Smart City Mission Launch on June 25th, 2015 at VigyanBhavan, New Delhi, along witha cash prize of the following amounts: • Rs. 40,000 - First Prize • Rs. 25,000 - Second Prize The winning ideas would be shared with the 100 SmartCities as potentiallyimplementablesolutions and will be considered for pilot • All questions in a particular category must be answered to be considered as a complete submission and to be eligible for short-listing. • The participants(s) entries will be judged for each category independently and on merit. In case of short listing in more than one category, a participant will receive prize money for one category only. • The length of each answer is limited to 250 words or less. Ans to question 1. Energy efficient & green buildings. There should be many high tech and high rise buildings in each city which are protected from earth quakes and tornados. The building should contain technology from which it can some energy from its own. Building should be covered from solar panels and there should be wind mill in almost every building. Buildings should be made from high quality material with no compromise.there should be skyscrapers in almost evey city to reduce congestion

Ans to question no. 1 Waste water to be treated There should be a waste water management plant in each city which is interconnected with waste water management plants of another city of the same state and then the waste water management plant of the state should be connected to the waste management plant of another state. And by this system operating of plant become easy for the water department. And there should also be a high tech rain water management plant in each city.

5 essential facts about your local municipal corporation: A desk where all can file complain and can know the Complain Status. A Officer who should interact with all and solve the issues. Contact number of Chief officers and PRO. Area wise follow ups to be taken by Municipal officers for local issues. All area should have a Ward office to receive complains.

Task would making of ATM HUB, instead of ATMS at separate locations. EG : A common place in a sector/galli/road can save and help a lot of people/banks. The benefits would be following : 1. Banks will have to invest less on infrastructure and security 2. Minimum 5 ATM can be at one place saving time for people. 3. Electricity consumptions of AC's will be less as comparative to individual ATMS. 4. Lesser headache for the Police monitoring system. 5. Ppl can navigate to atm hub using maps.

3 ways that Indian cities can reduce the gap between rich and poor: 1. Educate all, the poor also can be given education at The Govt.schools.The Funds which Govt. spends by Donating other countries should be used for Educating the Poor. 2.Once they are educated give them employments in Industries where Labours are Shortage this days. 3. Govt. also should pay well to Govt. employees so they dont feel like Lower class People. Money is the Only thing which Creates Poor and Rich

Ans to question 1..... Intelligent traffic management... 1. There should be an alternative road with the main roads and which is monitored by the traffic police, and it should have a passage gate which will only open by the traffic police when traffic on the main road is not able to pass through the main road. And there should be an another road covered by beautiful fencing only for ambulance so ambulance can reach hospital at time.there should be foot path on every road covered by fencing....

1. हर एक उगाये एक -every citizen should plant a tree infront of his house 2. Smart Taxation-every IT payer should be given a smart card which he needs to give at all purchase outlets to avoid multiple taxation but to ensure that everyone pays tax on time to contribute for Nation. 3. Instead of promoting "make in India".there could be facilities made for the Indian companies to develop. Exports made by Indian companies would help the indigenous companies to expand their bases over other countries

‘smart’idea: Most of the Countries the entire planning is done before they work.India first Make Roads,Once Road are Ready The BSNL / Water Supply come to know that they forgot to put underground Wiring so they again Dig the Road which is made recently. Once the Underground works are completed the Road department hardly bother to give a Finishing. Y cant this department inform each other that following work is going to be carried out and they can plan accordingly. Y waste of Public Money?

Urban Mobility: Smart Parking: Municipal Corporation or Nagarpalika should have space / Parking Buildings at every point in Market area to avoid heavy Traffic Jams. I had been to Manali and i found that the Local Muncipality had constructed a 3 storey build only for Car parking which was a Good idea to avoid Traffic in Market. Off course there are such parking in India mainly a Basement Parkings at Shopping Malls but still it have to be More and More such Facilities.
