Department of Information Technology (DEITY), Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Govt. of India seeks entries for designing a suitable Logo and Tagline for Biometric Attendance System.
As part of the “Digital India” programme of Government of India, it has decided to implement common Biometric Attendance System (BAS) in the Central Government Offices (Agencies) located in Delhi to begin with. The proposed system would enable an employee to register attendance by presenting his/her biometric (finger print/Iris) which will be authenticated online by doing one to one match with the bio-metric stored in the UIDAI data centre against the employee’s Aadhaar number. DEITY has been assigned the nodal responsibility to ensure its effective implementation.
More details on the current status of implementation of the bio-metric attendance project can be seen at the attendance.gov.in
Department of Information Technology (DEITY), with aim to get people’s participation for suggesting a suitable logo and tagline for Bio-metric Attendance System (BAS) invites entries in MyGov.
The last date of submission is 15th October, 2014.
The winning entry will be awarded a cash prize of Rs. 25,000/-.

The logo for the biometric attendance system is based on the fact that an eye watching you can always be encouraging for you to be right which here is to be regular and punctual through the syatem of biometric finger print scanning,It ensures my presence in the system ,hence the tagline ."BAS My presence, meri upasthithi"

Biometric firstly preserves the information regarding the identities of different working people and thus helps in recording attendance.
So the taglines plays on its two roles "timeliness" and "identity"

Tagline "Samay ki Sahi Pehchaan"
Logo implies that the time is in our finger tips and we should utilise it properly. The Indian tricolour in the finger prints show diffeent people coming together for work in a cordial manner timely.
