Department of Information Technology (DEITY), Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Govt. of India seeks entries for designing a suitable Logo and Tagline for Biometric Attendance System.
As part of the “Digital India” programme of Government of India, it has decided to implement common Biometric Attendance System (BAS) in the Central Government Offices (Agencies) located in Delhi to begin with. The proposed system would enable an employee to register attendance by presenting his/her biometric (finger print/Iris) which will be authenticated online by doing one to one match with the bio-metric stored in the UIDAI data centre against the employee’s Aadhaar number. DEITY has been assigned the nodal responsibility to ensure its effective implementation.
More details on the current status of implementation of the bio-metric attendance project can be seen at the attendance.gov.in
Department of Information Technology (DEITY), with aim to get people’s participation for suggesting a suitable logo and tagline for Bio-metric Attendance System (BAS) invites entries in MyGov.
The last date of submission is 15th October, 2014.
The winning entry will be awarded a cash prize of Rs. 25,000/-.

The logo merges the symbol of Biometric technology ( finger print) with time ( clock). It showcases how this new technology will be used to keep track of the time and attendance of Government employees.

Logo description Eye (saffron colour)reflects watching punctuality using electrical equipment sand timer (blue) reflects time sense tick mark (green colour) reflects presence at right time back ground watch reflects gandhiji's watch which in turn reflects the punctuality of ganhiji................ whole logo attains a shape of smiley face

My tagline for Biometric attendance system is "Ungli Ki rekha me Bharath ka bhavisya". India future is in your fingerprints. I have depicted same in the logo. India map glowing inside the foot print (digital IC) being scanned.
