Department of Information Technology (DEITY), Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Govt. of India seeks entries for designing a suitable Logo and Tagline for Biometric Attendance System.
As part of the “Digital India” programme of Government of India, it has decided to implement common Biometric Attendance System (BAS) in the Central Government Offices (Agencies) located in Delhi to begin with. The proposed system would enable an employee to register attendance by presenting his/her biometric (finger print/Iris) which will be authenticated online by doing one to one match with the bio-metric stored in the UIDAI data centre against the employee’s Aadhaar number. DEITY has been assigned the nodal responsibility to ensure its effective implementation.
More details on the current status of implementation of the bio-metric attendance project can be seen at the attendance.gov.in
Department of Information Technology (DEITY), with aim to get people’s participation for suggesting a suitable logo and tagline for Bio-metric Attendance System (BAS) invites entries in MyGov.
The last date of submission is 15th October, 2014.
The winning entry will be awarded a cash prize of Rs. 25,000/-.

Inspired by iconic 'chain clock' that Mahathma Gandhi keeps in dhoti, logo of BAS is designed to resemble the former. Logo follows tri color theme and is in shape of round(Gandhiji's) clock with 12 human figures depicting 12 numbers in a clock. In the dial of clock, there is a finger print and Gandhiji with his stick inscribed in the finger print. This reminds us Gandhiji's vision of ideal India and is the responsibility of every citizen(Govt.Official).Tag line is - 'Respect Time.Respect Nation'
