Goods and Services Tax Network (GSTN) is a non-profit company setup by Government of India, State governments and financial institutions to provide IT infrastructure and services to the Central and State governments, tax payers and other stakeholders for implementation of proposed Goods and Services Tax (GST).

GST would be a broad-based, comprehensive, single indirect tax which will be levied concurrently on goods and services across India. It will replace Value added Tax (VAT), Excise Duty, Service Tax, Central Sales Tax, Additional Customs Duty, Special Additional Duty of Customsand several other indirect taxes. Introduction of GSTin India is perceived to be the most ambitious initiative in the arena of indirect tax reform. It would change the Indian tax structure and pave the way for modernization of tax administration.  It will simplify the indirect tax regime, making the whole country a single market.

Objectives of GSTN

The GSTN is mandatedto provide following broad services in GST regime:

1.    Provide common online Registration, Return filling and e-Payment servicesforapproximately 60 lakh tax payers;
2.    Build efficient, convenient and user-friendly online interface for the tax payers;
3.    Ensure integration of the Common GST Portal with existing tax administration systems of Central/ State Governments and other stake holders;
4.    Carry out research, study and implement best practices and provide training to the stakeholders

Entries are invited for the contest of designing a logo and defining a tagline for GSTN.

The winning entry will be awarded as under:

a. Logo- Rs. 50,000/-

b. Tag Line- Rs. 50,000/-

I took a peacock as a symbol because Peacock is indicated our nation. I represent the growth of our nation. Every person has a responsibility is contribute for the development of our country and government has also same responsibility is the person who paid tax their money going to always in the right direction. Tagline for goods ad servces tax network: Hindi: EK KAR - EK BHARATH ,English: ONE TAX -ONE INDIA.

I had given a tagline earlier 'a simpler and hurdle free taxation' Being a single window GSTN will help to access when, where, how ,who and which . Thus provide accountable tax administration.It will also abolish taxes like CST, SST, octroi, taxes on transportation of goods as well as services.So, it is definitely a simple and hurdle free tax which is going to make India one.Secondly,my Logo represents Rupee the Indian currency and the yellow color represents SHUBH LAABH. Y is color of goodness
