During the Rashtriya Ekta Divas address on 31st October, on the occasion of birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi announced that the Government of India proposes to launch a new initiative called ‘EK Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’. The programme aims to give a boost to the existing cultural connect between different parts of the country and enhance interaction between people living in different states.

Conceptually, the idea is that each year one state should connect to any other state in India on a reciprocal basis. As the Prime Minister himself explained through an example in his speech, "Haryana as a state can decide to connect with Tamil Nadu for the year 2016 and the activities that Haryana state can undertake may include popularizing the rich heritage of Tamil Nadu in Haryana through song festivals, book festivals, literary events, food festivals, tours of people of Haryana to Tamil Nadu and vice versa. In the year 2017, Haryana would connect to any other state and in 2018 to another state and so on".

The knowledge of the culture, traditions and practices of different states will lead to an enhanced understanding and bonding between each other thereby strengthening the unity and and integrity of India. The full address of the portion of the Prime Minister's speech, where he announced the scheme, can be accessed here.

We believe that such an initiative to connect people-to-people should be implemented with inputs from the citizens of India.

With this view, MyGov introduces the ‘EK Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ contest. Citizens are invited to submit their ideas and suggestions on how the programme should be structured so as to encapsulate its true spirit in all its various dimensions and capture the diversity that characterises India.

While the citizens are free to submit their ideas in kernel format, they can also expand in detail on the themes and sub-themes. Citizens may consider the following general themes on which to base their ideas, while submitting their entries. These themes are only indicative and participants are free to include any other points they deem appropriate.

1. Identifying role of central government and state governments in implementing the programme
2. Identifying the manner in which the governments, civil society and private sector can work together.
3. Specifying the Use of modern communication tools, including social media.
4. Documentation of success stories.
5. Making 'Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat' a people's movement rather than a government programme.

Participants are encouraged to submit original and innovative ideas. An idea, merely rich in detail but lacking originality, would not score more than a very innovative idea explained briefly. However, if a very innovative idea is also explained in detail, it will naturally score higher.

Participants may submit their entries as attached PDF documents while providing a summary of their proposals in the comment section.

The winners of the contest will be awarded a certificate by the Prime Minister, along with cash prizes as follows:

1. First Prize - Rs. 100,000/-
2. Second Prize - Rs. 75,000/-
3. Third Prize - Rs. 50,000/-

The last date for submission is 25th December, 2015.

Connect NE states to big states first. Big states people consider NE people outsiders and various violent activities have occured. Student exchange programme to undestand deep contrast in culture and way of life. Farmers exchange programme because NE farmers generally have limited use of modern techniques comparing to haryana punjab and western UP. Connect 2 NE states to 1 big state. #EKBharatShresthaBharat is a campaign which can be realized in many ways to integrate the country in many ways.I have following suggestions: 1.In cultural and religious way Rajasthan and Gujarat are somewhat similar specially in Krishna Following.Rajasthan has Shrinathji Temple and Gujarat has Dwarka. Both are places of Spiritual Tourism for the people of both states.Hence the state governments can host a spiritual cum religious fair every year at one of these two destinations alternatively.

Dear Sir A very big problem of our beloved country is corruption and black money. Most of the corruption is in cash form and it is increasing day by day as there are not much means to track cash transactions as well as to minimize them. As under Jan Dhan Yozana there have been opening of accounts of all citizens, government should emphasis for e transactions only. All account holders to be given with a debit/ATM card which will be swiped for any money transactions. Corruption will reduce.

Pyare Modi Ji, I can boost your idea 'Ek Bharat Shreshth Bharat' with My Thoughts. 1.We Have to do this Idea on the smallest level of government I mean on The Ward Level. We can do this only and only with the help of every people.we have to advertise our idea in the mind set of every people. For this We have to target the Students who reads in 3rd class to 12th class.Because This the mind set of Child is very clear. We can organise programs in Schools and boost Our Idea.

My views on Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat goes to education department. some States of India conducting Courses based on fundamental but some states are conducting courses based on applications. But our generation needs the knowledge of both. So Owner classes for dedicated subjects in technical education as well as other departments should be started. And my second view is based on Employment. sharing of resources between states for generating more no. of jobs should be effective.
