During the Rashtriya Ekta Divas address on 31st October, on the occasion of birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi announced that the Government of India proposes to launch a new initiative called ‘EK Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’. The programme aims to give a boost to the existing cultural connect between different parts of the country and enhance interaction between people living in different states.

Conceptually, the idea is that each year one state should connect to any other state in India on a reciprocal basis. As the Prime Minister himself explained through an example in his speech, "Haryana as a state can decide to connect with Tamil Nadu for the year 2016 and the activities that Haryana state can undertake may include popularizing the rich heritage of Tamil Nadu in Haryana through song festivals, book festivals, literary events, food festivals, tours of people of Haryana to Tamil Nadu and vice versa. In the year 2017, Haryana would connect to any other state and in 2018 to another state and so on".

The knowledge of the culture, traditions and practices of different states will lead to an enhanced understanding and bonding between each other thereby strengthening the unity and and integrity of India. We believe that such an initiative to connect people-to-people should be implemented with inputs from the citizens of India.

With this view, MyGov introduces the ‘EK Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ contest. Citizens are invited to submit their ideas and suggestions on how the programme should be structured so as to encapsulate its true spirit in all its various dimensions and capture the diversity that characterises India.

While the citizens are free to submit their ideas in kernel format, they can also expand in detail on the themes and sub-themes. Citizens may consider the following general themes on which to base their ideas, while submitting their entries. These themes are only indicative and participants are free to include any other points they deem appropriate.

1. Identifying role of central government and state governments in implementing the programme
2. Identifying the manner in which the governments, civil society and private sector can work together.
3. Specifying the Use of modern communication tools, including social media.
4. Documentation of success stories.
5. Making 'Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat' a people's movement rather than a government programme.

Participants are encouraged to submit original and innovative ideas. An idea, merely rich in detail but lacking originality, would not score more than a very innovative idea explained briefly. However, if a very innovative idea is also explained in detail, it will naturally score higher.

Participants may submit their entries as attached PDF documents while providing a summary of their proposals in the comment section.

The winners of the contest will be awarded a certificate by the Prime Minister, along with cash prizes as follows:

1. First Prize - Rs. 100,000/-
2. Second Prize - Rs. 75,000/-
3. Third Prize - Rs. 50,000/-

Government should organize a roving fair like 'Bharat Expo'. This fair will be organized every month for 10 days in a different state. For e.g. in January it will be organized in Haryana, Feb in Delhi, Mar in U.P., etc. (since there are more than 12 states, each state will get to host the expo once in 2-3 years). In this fair we will have craftsman and artists from all the sates who will showcase their art. All these craftsman will get a salary from the gov along with sales revenue.

My idea is to have an individual state team touring other states and presenting their art and culture to people of the visited state as they go on. Meanwhile they too can appreciate the culture of the visited state when they travel. I feel the tie-ups between states can help but let this interaction be more at the rural/semi-urban level where this culture is portrayed. Each state government will identify its cultural programme design. Finally we can have a national level competition of all teams

I want in India, there should be a separate lane for Ambulance only. I saw on roads in Jam no one give side to Ambulance. We people never understand the emergency horn of Ambulance. If there will a separate lane for it then we can save life of many one. And Also there will a punishment who use this lane without any emergency.

Is there a possibility of creating an All-India Railway ticket or Pass? Currently, the Railways has an Indrail Pass, but its only open to foreign travellers who have to pay in US Dollars. Why shouldn't this facility be opened to Indian nationals? Millions of travelers to Europe use the Eurorail pass, and Indrail Pass has the same potential if designed and marketed properly. It would also feed into the entire modernization exercise the Railways is undergoing. #EkBharatShreshthaBharat

Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat is a unique programme and can be encouraged or expanded by introducing clothing and food culture of one state to the other state, this will show a drastic change the reason we like the food the others cook and we like the clothes other wear and providing discounts through tourism for students who travel through Indian tourism to visit neighbouring states as part of excursion under study tour. Adding a lesson in high school text books about the states and their culture.

The Government of India was established 252 Jan Shikshan Sansthan(JSSs)(Sponsored by Ministry of Human Resource Development)in all over the country. All JSSs are covered both Village and town.75% of the beneficiaries are female. All the JSSs are monitoring by Ministry through NIC portal. Cultural activities is one of the work of JSSs. Every year JSSs are performed the cultural activities at New Delhi.I request that the Honourable Prime Minister may be pleased to use JSSs in their cultural event

There should be one on- line certificate course of different languages of Indian States free of cost, so that more and more people will be able to learn the language of other state of their interest and without any force. This will help in integration with other states.

EK BHARAT SHRESHTHA BHARAT - I BORN AT CHENNAI AND STUDIED AT CHENNAI CORPORATION SCHOOL AND FINALLY AT IIM BANGALORE. UNITY IS STRENGH. UNITY COMES ONLY WITH UNDERSTANDING OTHERS. LANGUAGE PLAYS A VITAL ROLE. MAKE SANSKRIT AS A COMPULSORY LANGUAGE UPTO 8TH STANDARD ACROSS INDIA. WE ALL KNOW INDIANS INVENTED MANY IN OUR GOLDEN AGE, BUT THOSE ARE IN SANSKRIT AND NOT STUDIED IN SCHOOL BOOKS. INDIANS INVENTED BUT FOR ALL HUMANS. IF ANYONE SPEAK ILL OF ANY LANGUAGE SHOULD BE PUNISHED.

Dear Sir, I suggest to encourage solar cooker to be made available to the poor people who cannot afford LPG connection. Also to encourage use of solar cooker by all Indians so that overall consumption of LPG will be reduced across country. This will result into savings as well as satisfaction amongst all Indians.
