During the Rashtriya Ekta Divas address on 31st October, on the occasion of birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi announced that the Government of India proposes to launch a new initiative called ‘EK Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’. The programme aims to give a boost to the existing cultural connect between different parts of the country and enhance interaction between people living in different states.

Conceptually, the idea is that each year one state should connect to any other state in India on a reciprocal basis. As the Prime Minister himself explained through an example in his speech, "Haryana as a state can decide to connect with Tamil Nadu for the year 2016 and the activities that Haryana state can undertake may include popularizing the rich heritage of Tamil Nadu in Haryana through song festivals, book festivals, literary events, food festivals, tours of people of Haryana to Tamil Nadu and vice versa. In the year 2017, Haryana would connect to any other state and in 2018 to another state and so on".

The knowledge of the culture, traditions and practices of different states will lead to an enhanced understanding and bonding between each other thereby strengthening the unity and and integrity of India. We believe that such an initiative to connect people-to-people should be implemented with inputs from the citizens of India.

With this view, MyGov introduces the ‘EK Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ contest. Citizens are invited to submit their ideas and suggestions on how the programme should be structured so as to encapsulate its true spirit in all its various dimensions and capture the diversity that characterises India.

While the citizens are free to submit their ideas in kernel format, they can also expand in detail on the themes and sub-themes. Citizens may consider the following general themes on which to base their ideas, while submitting their entries. These themes are only indicative and participants are free to include any other points they deem appropriate.

1. Identifying role of central government and state governments in implementing the programme
2. Identifying the manner in which the governments, civil society and private sector can work together.
3. Specifying the Use of modern communication tools, including social media.
4. Documentation of success stories.
5. Making 'Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat' a people's movement rather than a government programme.

Participants are encouraged to submit original and innovative ideas. An idea, merely rich in detail but lacking originality, would not score more than a very innovative idea explained briefly. However, if a very innovative idea is also explained in detail, it will naturally score higher.

Participants may submit their entries as attached PDF documents while providing a summary of their proposals in the comment section.

The winners of the contest will be awarded a certificate by the Prime Minister, along with cash prizes as follows:

1. First Prize - Rs. 100,000/-
2. Second Prize - Rs. 75,000/-
3. Third Prize - Rs. 50,000/-

The last date for submission is 25th December, 2015.

i think this is helpful for our citizens but every problem there is a one solution so every government should provide customer service centers.like register office/revenue department have separate customer care not only one every state built minimum 25 customer service centers.the service centers different sectors like hospitals,police,revenue,railway,city bus and women care,child care,mother care so these service centers will built minimum 500 so india can towards good service to the nation.

आदरणीय प्रधानमंत्री जी, हमारे देश की सबसे बड़ी समस्या, जातिवाद है जिस के कारण हम आज़ाद हो कर भी आज़ाद नहीं है आप ने विश्व के बड़े-बड़े देशो का दोरा किया है क्या किसी भी देश मे ये समस्या आप को देखने को मिली है मेरे हिसाब से आप को ऐसा जाति-पाती का आभास नहीं हुआ होगा सब से पहले हमे इस उच-नीच के भेद-भाव को समाप्त करना होगा ओर सबको एक प्लेट फार्म पर लाना होगा ताकि लोग मिल जुल कर काम कर सके ओर देश को आगे बढ़ा सके क्योकि बिना आपसी भेद भाव को समाप्त किए एक भारत का सपना अधूरा है

My idea is as follows: Each college will have a cultural secretary. Just like how the Olympics is scheduled, a state is picked. For example, I live in Karnataka, and I'm the cultural secretary for my college, I would pick one chit with a state (excluding mine) and will organize events/cultural exchange programme(s) in my college. There are 885 colleges in Bangalore itself. In this way, we could help promote the culture of our state and the state we picked. #EkBharathShreshthaBharath

We live the competitive atmosphere all higher study in English language and we also love english as much as hindi or regional language . I am still studying and my classmate are from many state the all are very love their regional language and I belong from Uttar Pradesh I communicate in hindi well and my friend are also understand hindi well but I am not understand their regional language the story behind that I want to suggest that at least One nation so One language will be there.

One of the key connections here will be food. The restaurents and hotel shall incorporate in their menus, dishes of partner state clearly identifiable with partner's state name and the item shall be priced at some concession. The items shall be a kind of street food, vegetarian and non-vegetarian. This will help building the interest in the partner state's culture and delicacies.
