During the Rashtriya Ekta Divas address on 31st October, on the occasion of birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi announced that the Government of India proposes to launch a new initiative called ‘EK Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’. The programme aims to give a boost to the existing cultural connect between different parts of the country and enhance interaction between people living in different states.

Conceptually, the idea is that each year one state should connect to any other state in India on a reciprocal basis. As the Prime Minister himself explained through an example in his speech, "Haryana as a state can decide to connect with Tamil Nadu for the year 2016 and the activities that Haryana state can undertake may include popularizing the rich heritage of Tamil Nadu in Haryana through song festivals, book festivals, literary events, food festivals, tours of people of Haryana to Tamil Nadu and vice versa. In the year 2017, Haryana would connect to any other state and in 2018 to another state and so on".

The knowledge of the culture, traditions and practices of different states will lead to an enhanced understanding and bonding between each other thereby strengthening the unity and and integrity of India. The full address of the portion of the Prime Minister's speech, where he announced the scheme, can be accessed here.

We believe that such an initiative to connect people-to-people should be implemented with inputs from the citizens of India.

With this view, MyGov introduces the ‘EK Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ contest. Citizens are invited to submit their ideas and suggestions on how the programme should be structured so as to encapsulate its true spirit in all its various dimensions and capture the diversity that characterises India.

While the citizens are free to submit their ideas in kernel format, they can also expand in detail on the themes and sub-themes. Citizens may consider the following general themes on which to base their ideas, while submitting their entries. These themes are only indicative and participants are free to include any other points they deem appropriate.

1. Identifying role of central government and state governments in implementing the programme
2. Identifying the manner in which the governments, civil society and private sector can work together.
3. Specifying the Use of modern communication tools, including social media.
4. Documentation of success stories.
5. Making 'Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat' a people's movement rather than a government programme.

Participants are encouraged to submit original and innovative ideas. An idea, merely rich in detail but lacking originality, would not score more than a very innovative idea explained briefly. However, if a very innovative idea is also explained in detail, it will naturally score higher.

Participants may submit their entries as attached PDF documents while providing a summary of their proposals in the comment section.

The winners of the contest will be awarded a certificate by the Prime Minister, along with cash prizes as follows:

1. First Prize - Rs. 100,000/-
2. Second Prize - Rs. 75,000/-
3. Third Prize - Rs. 50,000/-

The last date for submission is 25th December, 2015.

I do not know if this qualifies for 'EK Bharat Shreshtha Bharat', however I have always dreamt about an international level theme park in India like the 'Epcot' center in Florida where we can have the states represented. Each section having a small area where they serve specific region food, show specific folk dances from that region, shops from that region. Such a theme park (which the USA had to bring in that culture in Epcot center from all over the world) will definitely succeed.

1. Government should impose penalty against those who sticks posters and bills on wall. 2. Government should impose penalty against those who dig the road for wiring, be it telecom companies or any individual, and leave the road dirty. 3. Government should provide sufficient mobile toilets and dustbins alongside road. 4. Government must set-up a committee at a local level to inspect the situation in each and every colony on a regular basis.

The best way to interchange ideas by our neighbour hood states is 1 .we can show the important of that state before starting a film 70% of people will watch films 2. By giving adds in news papers 3.or by conducting some events may get a good change 4. In Andhra Pradesh for Godavari Pushkaralu some lakhs of people visited by advertising and by telling the importance The cheapest way is by giving mails to people and we must make motivate to others

A state should recognise its strength and showcae, advertise, teach other states. Ex: road safety, infrastructure in schools, agricultural initiatives, cleanliness. I think the motto of this should be SSSSS (5S)- SWASTHA, SURAKSHIT, SWACHHA,SAMAJIK, SWASTIK

We must Start to Unite India from North-South,East-WEst from School Levels. Punjab school kids must learn Kuchipudi, and Students from South should taught Bhangra. To generate Interest among students,Marks must be given for such extracurricular activities, and every month interstate competitions or performance must be done, like Punjab students performing fusion of bhangra with kathak & Vice versa Similarly, cultural Movies must b made tax free,so that theatre wil show interest for regional movie

acc. to my view first of all we have to create highness(tell about best thing) of one state to other state from which it is connected but this highness is created by common man of society not by any celebrity because this impact most that this known person is interested in it then why i am not? let us take a example"a mlm company who select their consumer as a disrtibutor and people think that this known person is do this then i should also do this" and college student is best for this work
