All citizens and stakeholders of Tirupati City are invited to participate in the essay writing competition on the Theme of Mera Sapno ka Shahar i.e. “Tirupati Nagaram – Naa Kalala Tirupati”.

Municipal Corporation Tirupati will use the inputs from the winning entries to develop the Vision and Sub-goals for the City Plan and preliminary idea of Smart Solutions and Area Based Developments. Essay can be written in English or Telugu.

Topic

The citizens are requested to present the essay on below topic

• Issues/needs of the city, possible solutions for these issues and priorities

Word Limit: Essay should be approximately 1000 words.

The Top 3 Essays will be awarded as:

1. For Students

a) 1st Prize - Rs 25,000/- (Twenty five thousand only)
b) 2nd Prize - Rs 15,000/- (Fifteen thousand only)
c) 3rd Prize - Rs 10,000/- (Ten thousand only)

2. For Others

a) 1st Prize - Rs 25,000/- (Twenty five thousand only)
b) 2nd Prize - Rs 15,000/- (Fifteen thousand only)
c) 3rd Prize - Rs 10,000/- (Ten thousand only)

How to Submit

1. Submit online at https://mygov.in
2. On Postal - Commissioner, Tirupati Municipal Corporation, Tirupati. Please mention on top of the cover as “SMART TIRUPATI – ESSAY WRITING COMPETITION”.

Terms and Conditions

1. Essay should cover the topic mentioned above and weightage shall be given to Creative, Innovative and Positive.

2. The Name of the Participant, Address, Category, Occupation, Age and Contact No., must be mentioned clearly on the top of the Essay.

3. Municipal Corporation Tirupati will evaluate the entries in each category and the TOP THREE ESSAYS will be awarded.

The Competition will close on 15th November, 2015.

Improvements for Tirumala: 1)Maintain good sanitation 2)Provided clean water & hygienic food 3)The utensils used by TTD to be thoroughly cleaned & steam washed to prevent any contamination 4)Masks to be used for head & mouth, gloves for hands while serving food,to prevent food contamination 5)RO filtered water to be used 6)Pint Nos. 3,4,5 to be followed by private canteens also 7)Burning garbage/plastic waste to be avoided 8)Flowering,medicinal plants to be grown in all areas of Tirumala

Improvements for Tirumala Do not hike seva/darshan & room tickets,as the offerings/donations from pilgrims are sufficient for maintenance & developmental activities. Ban plastics.Use Eco-friendly materials like Banana leaves & Vistaraku for food serving/packing. Develop attractive,good fragrance,medicinal,flowering plants with good landscaping Do not pull/push the pilgrims inside temple Maintain smooth & continuous line flow Blocking & Sudden release of Q to be avoided,to prevent stampede

Utilize certain amount received as donations at Tirumala for developmental activities like: 1)Protected steps way against wild animals,so that pilgrims can trek to the temple round the clock 2)Good lighting and refreshment stalls to be provided on the way 3)Walk ways should not be combined with roads due to safety problem 4)Battery cars to be provided to all the pilgrims at nominal charge 5)Transport to be provided from room to Q complex/entrance of temple with nominal rate 2)Good l

Tirumala improvements: Darshan to be within 1 hr Allot time slots on booking darshan/seva Develop package to link train/flight/bus tickets with room & seva/darshan Do not hike seva/darshan & room tickets,as the offerings/donations from pilgrims are sufficient Ban plastics Develop attractive,good fragrance,medicinal,flowering plants with good landscaping Do not pull/push the pilgrims inside temple Maintain smooth line flow Blocking & Sudden release of Q to be avoided,to prevent stampede

Rain water harvesting Dumping any kind of waste on ground to be avoided,as it contaminates the ground water(Separate bins to be provided for waste/e-waste collection & disposed off/recycled at earmarked area,far away from the city) Chemicals,acids,old batteries should not be thrown on the ground as they contain hazardous materials like lead and mercury.These substances have high ill effects on health Concrete Cement reinforced drainage system to be developed,to prevent seepage of drain water

Promote IT Encourage battery operated,solar & CNG vehicles Plant trees which absorb the existing pollution Provide cycling tracks,faster Public transport systems like metro rail & BRTS Most of the services like banking,telephone bills,electricity bills,land/house registrations,property tax,insurance works etc.to be made online,to curb vehicle use and thereby reduction in pollution Vehicles will heavy sound pollution to be curbed Avoid burning garbage/tyres/plastic covers,wires & waste
