In the last decade it was the road network that gave an impetus to India’s development. Today the need of the hour is to set up optical fibre networks across India that will empower people. This task invites your ideas on setting up a grid of high speed networks with the potential to transform India.

During my first Telemedicine Project the difficult most aspect of connectivity with my village hospital was the tough BSNL Dept. Hurdles are created due to tender process of trenching & cabel purchasing. I gave contract to my Gram Panchayat for trenching & bsnl laid the cable. Now my villagers are connected through Telemed. Idea is to deliver trenching work to Gram Pancht from exchange to panchayat bhawan & rest of work by bsnl.

*Femtocell Access Points", a device widely used in US and UK to provide coverage and high speed 3G networks in remote areas like villages, metro tunnels, malls, etc. This device basically works as a "mini mobile tower" whose range is up to 1 KM and in some cases more. I work on development of this technology and it's already deployed widely in US. We can have this technology to connect each and every village panchayat of India, with installing lesser mobile towers.. Also will get higher speed..

Here are certain suggestions -:1)Existing fibre network should be fully incorporated with GPON(gigabyte passive optical network) which is more efficient and stable. 2)It should reach every remote area as initiated by BBNL, and should also be able to provide efficient telephone sevices also.3)It should also be fully implemented in cities and govt should focus on BBNL broadband rather than BSNL broadband which is not fully optical fibre based , so as to boost the PSU and alongside generate revenue

Strengthening should be carried out through a combination of optical fibre and wireless technology. New wireless technologies are emerging that can transfer data faster. We should do a cost benefit analysis. Also we have a long length of coastline along which these cables can be laid without digging out our land and establishing towers for wireless transfer onshore.

In kolkata where unlimited internet speed for bsnl is caped all other provider like reliance & alliance in giving true unlimited plans with much cheaper prices. All other developed country's provide atlist 5-10mbps down and 2-5mbps up minimum. And please provide us with fiber to home(FTB) as a standard connectivity medium and talk to company like Google, they already provide connectivity in USA In 1GBPS scale with modest cost.My concern is that while world reaches 10GBPS scale we will be in 2MBPS.

See no one wants to be bounded by a wire where we cannot move, we want just to connect the system or mobile and start using the connectivity anywhere if it is chargeable also it doesn't makes any difference as we might be paying for the same but the speed should be super. Create seamless Wifi Zones with optic fiber and any individual can connect having an ID/Code and would be minimum prepaid chargeable for anywhere he moves.

Govt should focus on building the backbone network of fiber optics and lease it to service provider. This will become a huge revenue generation engine for Govt in future. Service providers can opt for network access which ultimately can be sold to end user. This model will also help in giving better service/rates for end user due to competition. On the other hand there will be Govt control on backbone hence unwanted traffic can be filtered out. There are many other things can be achieved by this
