The girl child today faces inequality and gender based discriminations even before birth. The nation cannot move forward unless women are given opportunity to realize their full potential and contribute to nation building.

Given this context, please share your thoughts, ideas, suggestions and feedback on how we can change the discriminatory social construct in order to celebrate the girl child. What should be our communication strategy for improving the situation and reach out to people?

The thinking of the society needs to be changed..only if girls are encouraged to be educated, then the parents will stop feeling the burden of a girl child. Also dowry system needs to be highly discouraged which indirectly will encourage parents to welcome the girl child..one educated girl is a boon to the whole family...beti bachao..beti padhao

In case we want "Beti Bachao Beti Padhao"a national movement, involvement of both Private and Public sector alongwith Govt. Employees involvement is required. 1. Why cant education upto 10th for Girl child is provided free by all Govts. There should not be any exemption or relief to any state. This should be made mandatory to all States. List of No. of children provided free education may be displayed in Child and Welfare Department alongwith internet portal. An advertisement of same may also be displayed by respective Dist. govt in Bus Station/Rly Station/Prominent places. . Similarly involve Private Institutions in this by way of their involvement in free education to girl child in thier Institutions. In india there are some states where the literacy rate is 100%. In order to ensure successful implementation of the education to all girl child incentives to welfare department for ensring 100% education to girl child is ensured by them and they should be held accountable and be made Nodal agency. 2.

Every girl child should be educated about the pros and cons of mobile phones. They should be educated how to dress safely. Every parent of the girl child should be cautioned on crimes done against girl children so that they keep an eye on them.
