first we need to teach every body who has a habbit of defecating in the open.it is common practice amongst people living in jhuggii,s,railway line, beneath temprory shelters, even unskilled workers employed at industries and staying in shacks ETC..if this is stopped by educating them the need for a clean and hygienic surrounding then half the work is done.

The manual scavenging is possible by design small hydro-vacuum pump. In western world it is more common in cleaning process. For India, It can be design for small scale. The machine is very useful in cleaning blockage in gutters too.

Manual Scavenging is inhuman because of two things it uses. The broom and the head basket for carrying night soil. Once we take care of both these, the social stigma attached to it will go. Broom is an appliance that doesnot dirt but displaces it. Replace it with auto cleaning machines like vacuums and road cleaners. Night soil must be managed with underground sewerage systems. The workers attending to this job will be respectfully called janitors as in western countries and this stigma will go.

I am doing online railway ticket booking as i am RBM in a company, i need to travel a lot..... but most of the times, trains are full... I seems there is manipulation in the system. there must be availability for all trains for all day.. if train gets full, add more coach.. if more coach is in demand, arrange second immediate train behind original train. think 4 lane and 6 lane in railway line... by this we can give best service and can do a best business too...

We should have proper waste disposal system so that people find it hard to scavenge and then automatically they will move toward other employment. When on streets/roads/mohallas there will not be waste collected in huge form which they search for plastic and other things to sale, then they will stop doing it. We should always look at solving the root cause. It is not a one man effort but of whole society. By clean India campaign we will move forward but we need to work specific to this cause.

4. Each and every MP/MLA must allot a portion of their quota of funds to modernise sanitation/ sewerage system. 5. Municipal Corporations/other urban bodies must change current methods used to clear waste matter. 6. Effective laws need to be passed to eradicate this system 7. Models followed by developed countries need to be studied, incorporated and strictly enforced. 8. Above all, as responsible citizens we need to address this indignity, this social curse. Till then, the problem will fester.
