Has anyone thought that there is a lot of space under the pillars of metro and fly overs, can't we use it for giving shops to people for rent.by this we can give them land in affordable prices and govt too can attain some revenue from the tenant.

In my opinion scavenging is a terribly inhuman , unhygienic and hazardous act which can lead to death. Small children , old people or in an extreme case the whole family does the work of scavenging because they dont have any other option ? no because they are not educated or in many villages are being forced to do this work because of their caste and considered as untouchables. I would say that this inhuman act should be totally abolished and banned from our country.

The only long standing, dependable solution making the system accountable is to have SSB(SWATCH BHARAT BOARD) at state level. Meaning to have 29 State level boards on the lines of RTI Act. Each SSB to have 10 members , with powers similar to that of RTI commissioners -entrusting the task of rehabilitation of scavenging community and elimination of manual scavenging- to this SSB.These boards must be filled with known social workers, as these boards are not to enjoy retired life at Govt cost

Sweden has dry composting toilets - where the urine and wash water is filtered and then used as fertilizer and the fecal matter shrinks to 3% of it volume in 6 years . A tank gets filled up in 40 years These are odorless - no scavenging - very good fertilizer source - Trails have been done in Bihar and Harayana and the saving of one family is Rs 13000 .We are looking for Schools , villages ,NGO who would be interested -and ofcourse the local Govt. visit www.compostera.eu

There is need of policy to give the opportunity to the NRIs to participate in the election and give there vote. There should be heavy fine law for the people who throws dirt in public place.
