It is a shame still the manual scavenging is practiced in our country. With proper infrastructure and strict law enforcement we can stop this practice.

One of the reasons of not implementing ILCS and other Toilet construction programmes is that people (officers) are only concerned about Numbers so monitoring is only on Financial Parameters (Numbers) The demand / social awareness is the least priority. Another problem is to give grant to Non reserved classes (No SC /ST) because most of people only target BPL only. When providing a road in a slum does not distingish classes then why grants ???. The lack of faith on people is also a big problem

Manual Scavenging means where people used to get into manholes to clear blockages or to manually remove faecal matter. This is not required now, thanks to equipment available in cities. Such equipment should be owned in towns too either by public or private entity. To operate this equipment, or to clean blocked pipelines by rods, people are required, whether we call them scavengers or by any other name.

Clean Ganga First of all the activities of public making dirty of Ganga should be reduced in living area of people and stopped completely day by day. Somanath Temple in Gujarat was constructed by collecting donation from people by the Beloved Sardar Vallabhai Patel. Similarly funds should be raised from people and executed with proper planning with Clean Hands in time bound as directed by Supreme Court.Participation of people, shoule be involved. Follow the method of purification of River Thames

I was trying to find topic on toilets for every house and its not there, so I am posting a suggestion here. there are so many government tenders all over India. Make t mandatory in every Bid/Tender to include 0.3% of the total bid value by contractor and 0.7% by the client (total 1% of total contract value) to be used for toilets in that specific area of work or nearby where ever it is required as per the common guidelines of Central Government.
