Hubballi-Dharwad Municipal Corporation, in Karnataka State has been selected by the Ministry of Urban Development as one of the 100 smart cities to participate in the “Smart City” Challenge Stage-2 by the Ministry of Urban Development, Government of India.

Every School should have special sessions on Traffic Rules and Safety, at the same time Parents and School authorities should discourage use of two Wheeler by school children.

Plan 1: To make city smart first we need to develop our infrastructure. specially in transport section. pls make the transportation of the cities more accurate. plan 2: when city would become a smart city... when there is a good interaction and communication among different departments of the city which governs the work of the city. pls have some advanced technologies that act as a middlewere between the departments.

The Hubballi-Dharwad smart city initiatives can be meaningful if the solutions designed are sustainable and citizen driven with minimum supervision by governmental agencies. The solutions designed should also lead to utilization of local resources in form human, material and miscellaneous resources.

1.Efficient multi mode public transport.2.Gardens/Parks with Food/Hawker Zones.3.Waste Management–solid & wet.4.Public Health–with more emphasis on prevention.5. e-governance–effective,across all government dept, pvte instit,&like.6. Roads& Parking7. Senior Citizens – Dharwad has a large population staying on their own. 8. Energy – solar Use of efficient lighting. Policy for both public & Pvt.9.Employment–invite Greenfield proj–IT,Food,BT,Pharma,&like.10. Peoples involvement all Areas/levels

Good Infrastructure for IT Companies and maintaining the standard of IT Park of Hubli to Bangalore level such that many companies can come to hubli for their branch office

Every ward should have a Active Citizen Committee (without any politician being a member of it). Any repair work such as digging/repairing should be intimated to such committee before commencement of the work for proper monitoring. Any payment to the concerned contractor should be made only after the Committee gives a clearance certificate.

The most effective Public Grievances Redressal System which is called PGRS with a state of art control room which connects all Government departments is the need of hour where problems reported and addressed in fixed time or else escalated to the higher most authority. Please include this in the Pan City IT initiative.
