Dear Modiji, I request to you to tell people in your next address on Aakashwani about why we must stop treating and looking at people as handicapped/disabled/specially-abled. This may demoralise them, as I have seen such a case. These people want to be treated equally like us, the "so called" normal people. But this differentiation, instead, just adds on to the gap between the "so called" normal people and the "handicapped/disabled/specially-abled" people. We need to bridge this gap.

For job opportunities for the specially-abled citizens, I think they can do equally well in the IT industry as well as in Automobile industry (the designing and marketing part). They can even get concessions in government jobs and convenient job posting, taking in account their health. P.S. The most important thing, ironically is that we stop treating them as specially-abled/disabled/handicapped. The day we stop doing this, we achieve an objective of treating citizens equally.

Sir ,IRCTC don't provide online reservation facility to special abled person which make trouble to special abled persons ..And second thing is that railway only provide concession to disable person with whom escort is there which mandatory. Some time it is too difficult to arrange any person his escort while traveling.I think this rule should be relax so a disable person who can travel alone could avail the concession benefits & govt. revenue can also be save .

All the gov sectors shud provide equal oppurtunities assesing the capabilities of specially abled and they can be given help for self employment schemes in which they can uplift the others. I had a classmate who was confined to a wheelchair due to multiple bone fractures. Everybody was told by the teachers that he must be treated specially. But he always refused. Rather, he always wanted to be with us during games period, on outdoor visits and picnics. And we always made that possible for him. Today, years later, we still are in touch with him. He's pursuing Engineering just like us, and we hope that he gets a really good job, and is well settled. We'll always stand by him...Always

I have a friend who has polio and hence cannot move without a wheel chair. But he is self sufficient in all respects and is a bank manager. I am proud to have him as a frnd. However I found that the norms which should be basic are missing even at govt establisments. A ramp for such wheel chaired people to move around should be mandatory in all (atleast) govt buildings.

Mr. Modi You are the only PM who has bothered to care for differently abled persons. On your radio address also you had mentioned your concerns for this group. However, most of the government departments are not even sensitive to their plight. There is no department which can help, guide or listen to their concerns. My son was just rejected a Driving License because he is physically challenged and limps. He can drive well and has passed the driving test.He has to commute 60 Km daily to college.
