Roughly 1% of GDP is spent on higher education as against a target of 1.5%. In the recent years, the state share of expenditure on education has declined as compared to an increase in Central expenditure on education. How can we address the financial resource constraints in higher education?

It is crucial to increase government spending in education, including higher education, we need to invest for making the runaway before we can soar as a country, at least 15% of GDP to be earmarked for education given that we have a economically, socially and culturally diverse population and gendered inequality in terms of access to higher educaytion

The government should invest in education directly and should create employment thorough construction and maintenance activities
