Please start with proper storage/cold chain facilities in each mandi in the country ( make it free for farmers or wholesalers, to store vegetables. for first 24-36 hrs).. Run a massive IEC campaign...to raise awareness in public . use mobile phone messaging to inform farmers and whole sellers of the new policies and facilities relating to storing food, fruits, veg.

Address the basic issue of prestige in cultivating a single crop which leads to excess. Then plan cold storage units and transportation facilities under a co-op scheme. Promote producer based sales for lower prices, better benefits to producer and consumer.

1.Sufficient Infrastructure should be built to store the vegetables & fruits.
2.The infrastructure should be installed with UV rays & enough warmth should be available in the storage building, for long time storage of fruits & vegetables.

The necessity of cold storages in increasing number is already known to agriculturists. The govt is also providing some benefits to those coming forward with initiatives. But more and more areas are to be covered. It is necessary to find out the reasons for the dull response. Delay in approvals? Delay in bank loans? Delay in land allocation by Authority? Is it a multiwindow problem? In the present scenario, giving solutions to the above is not difficult.

1# gather data about region wise crop production
2# develop regions/zones for producing the according to demand e.g for fruits, veg, herbs
3# open collection centers near production zones for raw produces
4# open food processing centers near to vicinity
5# create national policy on food production
6# modernize agri colleges and universities
