India is the World’s second largest producer of Fruits & Vegetables. However, the processing of perishable products in our country is very low, in comparison to the developed countries or developing countries like China, Brazil, Malaysia, Vietnam, etc. One of the main constraints in the growth of processing of fruits & vegetables in the country is non-availability of modern and suitable infrastructure with efficient supply Chain. Consequently, there is very high level of wastage of the fruits & vegetables in the country resulting in the farmer not getting adequate remuneration for his yield. A study conducted by Central Institute of Post Harvesting Engineering Technology (CIPHET), Ludhiana, an ICAR institute, reveals that wastage in various agricultural crops in the country range from 6-18% and the highest loss has been shown in fruits and vegetables.

Ministry of Food processing Industries invites views/ suggestions for reduction of these losses.

Last date for sending your suggestions is 1st February 2015.

Sir G,भारत की जनसंख्या का 65% युवा होना जो ब्रम्हान्ड मे बताकर जश्न हम मनायेंगे शेष 35% ने क्या message दिया जनसंख्या वृद्धि दर?और अधूरे संस्कार!रोहतक की बस मे दो बच्चियों के साथ छेड़छाड़-पूरी बस के यात्रियों ने बेहद शरीफाना परिचय दिया भारत किसी एक शरीफ का देश नहीं-शरीफों का देश है और ऐसी घटनाओं के Entertainment मे सबसे ज्यादा शरीफों को आनन्द आता है(एक शोध)!देश का पुलिस बल भी इसी समाज के बीच से आया है और आयेगा ।1500 व्यक्तियों पर एक constable(एक रिपोर्ट )।हमारे यहाँ तो 5000 पर एक का औसत होगा मानसिक रूप से बोझिल व्यक्ति से स्वच्छ उम्मीद ?सारा कुछ जनता के बीच के अच्छे प्रबंध कर्ता Manage करते है।हा-हा-हा हम तो और शरीफ हो गये। वंदेमातरम् ।क्षमा प्रार्थना के साथ।

The Government has to directly purchase the fruits and vegetables directly from the farmers and make necessary arrangements to ship them to the nearer cities and towns where government can set up distribution center which can provide fruits and vegetables to the citizens in the reasonable price.

1. Identify the Markets across the Country that use the so called after harvest before hand. 2. Improve storage facilities for near term usage. 3. Check with other Countries as to how they are handling the situation.

E-commerce is the marketing mantra now. In India every state produces Agri products. But due to lack of information about the availability in terms of quantity and quality is one reason that they are not available for those who want it and the producer unable to sell the product. If consumer products can be bought and sold on line, why not Agri Products, through dedicated on line marketing of the Agri Products. If the supply- demand is matched by sharing of information many will be benefited.

we need investment in warehousing as we know tonnes of agri produce turn in to waste because of non availability of storage units. Govt. may frame a policy for individual or group to set up cold storage cum purchase units,allocation of land via partnership so that set up cost may be lowest.

Like as in the our state of GUJARAT we have co-operative Mandli for the Milk. We should also set up Crop Bank. And use the our youth power to employ them.

We also set up Cold Storage chain and engage our youth in this field. So, our village people can earn the money at the Taluka level stage and farmer get the good rate. There should be also a system for deposit the materials , when a farmer deposit his/her crop , vegetable , fruits or any commodity he should get the 50% value of market rate. And then after sale the materials he may pay the charges of maintainance of commofdity. We have so many benefit due to this.

The demand analysis and creation of cold storage units according to the area demand is more essential. the phrase" use it where it is grown" has to be applied means use the commodity where it is produced than if remained sold out side of that area thus we will be able to reduce the transportation cost and mediators also. The Govt. may setup purchase cum cold store points at panchayat level and it can distribute commodity. the actual demand must be published area wise to be used by farmers.

We should set up Crop Bank at every village of our country. At where farmer can deposit they crop, vegetable , fruits and get 60% value of Market rate at the time. Then this bank can manage the products as per quality and grade like as Grain , Vegetable and Fruit. Each near five or more bank has a own transport system to reach the materials at the Market or Stock Yard. Then after the market rate amount received handling charges must be deduct from the material deposit.
