Overview:-

The Internet of Things (IoT) can transform the agriculture industry and enable farmers to contend with the enormous challenges they face. The industry must overcome increasing water shortages, limited availability of lands, fertility of lands difficult to manage cost, while meeting the increasing consumption needs of a global population that is expected to grow by 70% by 2050.

Objective:-

New innovative IoT applications will address these issues and help in increasing the quality, quantity, sustainability and cost effectiveness of agricultural production. For example, leverage IoT can be leveraged to allow the farmers to evaluate the soil conditions, moisture level, livestock feed levels density and level of pest control. say if the level of pest control exceeds prescribed range, through sensors alarm and alerts can be generated to warn the farmers to take actions.

The purpose of “Smart Farming” is to increase the quality and quantity of agricultural production by using sensing technology to make farmers more intelligent and more connected.

With the help of this discussion platform we request you to share your valuable inputs on:

• How an individual or an organization may contribute to Smart Farming.
• Experiences and challenges in using technology as a tool in farming.
• Practical/workable solutions for complete imposition of the future of farming- “Smart Farming” using IoT

Respected Prime Minister Sir, In India we depend on Monsoon rain for farming. I read on Internet that there is a company in Anand Gujrat which manufacture Vaaudhara machine. This machine can store fresh water from Air with the help of soalr energy. If every farm has fitted this machine and during Monsoon every farmer store water from air. This water may be utilize during lack of rain also can be utilize during winter (Rabi)crops. Idea is to recycle water by Vaaudhara machine in every farm.

First step ,determine economic size of holding that can fetch a LIVABLE INCOME for a standard family assuming 1 in 3 years would be drought.Promote this input to rural folks and encourage them to sell small holdings to adjacent farmers and provide skill development in other areas and enhance their entrepreneurial skills.Tell them they are the greatest risk takers and to be bold and venture to other areas.GIVE A HELPING HAND WITH MUDRA AND CONSULTANCY.

Smuggling of cows through border areas should be totally stopped. Cows, thus retained inside India, can be used for building NEW DAIRIES and manufacturing ORGANIC MANURE as huge industries. The dairy and fertilizer products can also be exported to boost the economy of the country.

In cities and towns, unused fields and lands , especially where injunction has been placed , may be used for growing vegetables and fruits.Solar energy can be tapped in the rooftops of houses and multistoreyed buildings for greenhouse farming. The balconies, outside walls and sun-shades of buildings can be used for growing herbs for medicinal use.Models can be followed from Japan and Russia's farming.

First of all, all manual labours should be replaced by machines, tractors in farming. Use of animals such as bullocks must be stopped altogether and alternative, solar-powered vehicles, pump stations and irrigation and ploughing devices should be installed.Belonging to a farmer's family I have seen my relatives from father's side exerting all but gaining too little as profits. So the infrastructure be such that farmers can afford to buy machines and organic manure / insecticides.

Sir, solar power, water power, mother earth who provide source to the humanity must be used Indian society to provide active work and health life. It is the mindset that too partisan mindset that river water can flow to sea but not to neighboring state, but food can be obtained by neighboring state. What a political thinking.

we are able to have intercontinental cables, we are able to have gas pipe line across continents, we are able to more intercontinental, but we are lacking in our will to interconnect rivers and see that very little water gets into sea whether east flowing or west flowing rivers using solar power to elevate the water wherever necessary thus provide the soil with needed water which will give work to farmers and food for export.
