The Internet of Things (IoT) can transform the agriculture industry and enable farmers to contend with the enormous challenges they face. The industry must overcome increasing water shortages, limited availability of lands, fertility of lands difficult to manage cost, while meeting the increasing consumption needs of a global population that is expected to grow by 70% by 2050.

Objective:-

New innovative IoT applications will address these issues and help in increasing the quality, quantity, sustainability and cost effectiveness of agricultural production. For example, leverage IoT can be leveraged to allow the farmers to evaluate the soil conditions, moisture level, livestock feed levels density and level of pest control. say if the level of pest control exceeds prescribed range, through sensors alarm and alerts can be generated to warn the farmers to take actions.

The purpose of “Smart Farming” is to increase the quality and quantity of agricultural production by using sensing technology to make farmers more intelligent and more connected.

Dear Sir first all we have to leverage our infrastructural input so that we can optimally utilise the technology available,still there are many areas where the technology is for rich farmers, not practically available for small and marginal farmers. The Internet on Things can be immense helpful in checking irrigation needs,weather conditions,fertilizer and pesticide spreading, crops suitable to soil and land capability and up capcitybuilding and inclusive policy for small landholders.

No 1 for farmers is stop wastage. Very simple measures like storage of grains; handling and storage of fruits like mangoes or bananas; crop exposed to weather after harvesting; and so forth. I have seen so much wastage. Apart from loss of income for farmers, it is environmentally very unfriendly. Water is so precious, and when so much has been used, we waste the final products is actually was of scarce water ! If we want per drop more crop - start with stopping wastage first..

Survey of land are very important because many of landlords where in cities and engage in service or business and there lands are vacant from long time. Blocks must have record such lands/ landlord details and there should be some law for them either they leave agricultural land or start smart framing cause they are educated and intelligent too.

Sir,Government has to ascertain the requirements of produces and curtail over-saturation to protect them from loss due to excess production and following competition unless there is scope for the Export.Government has to find ways to e-market their produces.A detailed study to identify the wilful-defaulters,cheaters who availed facilities If necessary,a separate Act can be thought of,covering all useful suggestions and make every educated person to produce something non-toxic in his home.

Allow all blocks to appoint person for soil test and suggest farmers for right crop for them. It help farmers to earn more.

Next,Sir,those creative,sincere Farmers have to decide the Government policy by making them responsible to the system,giving them powers to Social-audit through selection through a Non-Corrupt,non-theoretical Organization.Third,Agriculture must be made as a compulsory subject in schools with practical-training.Dedicated agencies have to help them to use modern,economically viable techniques with sources to bring more yield.A good farmer has to be guarded against any loss by the Government

To create Smart Farmers through awareness and awareness can be created through training of farmers in each village/area, content can be based on soil card. To focus more on farming education in our Education Policy, youth should be awarded/motivated for career in farming using IoT. Experience of those successful farmers who are already using technology should spread through Internet. Companies can be incentivizes imparting training on smart farming. In short a policy on "Smart Farming" needed

Sir,Most of the farmers are not educated.First a farmer has to be defined:a needy,willing,suffering,sincere farmer has to be identified.Many banks,States are spending a lot for agriculture,horticulture,etc.,In reality even after decades no substantial progress is shown.Delay,Corruption block things considerably to reach loan,subsidy. to those "Real Farmers".A third-party survey to identify the needs,"Real Farmers",qualified,willing,service-minded trainers to create SMART Farming is first needed.
