Construct a dam of following capacity:-
1) 20 million liters water.
2) 200 million liters water.
3) 2 thousand million liters water.
4) 20 thousand million liters water.
5) 40 thousand million liters water.

With out recycling of water like in Europe.. You can never solve water problem.. It should be privatised and regulatory authorities come and maintain standards. Can ask UK or Germany to be regulator parallel with indian regulator till indian regulator matures.

Summer has started and water in lakes/ponds started evaporating, my suggestion is need to create awarness to the people to pour used edible oil on the water in the lakes/ponds so the water will not evaporate and also no need to spend money for used edible oil.

My humble suggestions to the government on water are given below:
1. Conserve water bodies: A central legislation banning closure or major diversion of all water bodies. Time lapse digital map data shall be created to monitor implementation.
2. We have 1000s of kms of gas pipelines across India connecting far off places like Dahej to Bengaluru. Similar network of large underground water pipelines/tunnels with booster pumps shall be created to pump water to reservoirs in dry areas.
